Candy Spelling’s $24M Malibu beach house destroyed in LA fires as star mourns ‘massive loss’

Sadly, Candy Spelling’s Malibu seaside home was destroyed by the catastrophic wildfires that ravaged Los Angeles.

As a devoted daughter, I find myself sadly added to the expanding roster of Hollywood luminaries whose homes have been devastated by the relentless fires that sweep through our region, following in the footsteps of my late father, TV producer Aaron Spelling.

Over five individuals have lost their lives, and approximately 130,000 residents have been instructed to leave due to the fires, with a notable number of famous personalities among those impacted.

7-bedroom oceanfront villa, situated on an expansive 8,000-square-foot estate overlooking 81 feet of La Costa Beach, has been reduced to ruins and ashes, leaving behind merely a charred fence as the last remnant of the previously magnificent residence.

On Thursday, I shared my feelings with TMZ, expressing my profound shock and struggle to come to terms with this immense loss that has struck us. Yet, amidst the pain, I find myself deeply thankful for the priceless memories we created together – a truly precious gift bestowed upon me.

Last year, Spelling had listed the home for $24 million but later took it off the market.

Candy’s dear friend, Josh Flagg, expressed his sorrow to TMZ as well, remarking, ‘I’m heartbroken. This house holds countless memories for me.’ The structure may be destroyed, yet the recollections remain intact.

‘This is a total shame. This entire fire is a shame. This did not need to happen.’

In the midst of ongoing wildfires, numerous residents, including Spelling among them, face the devastating reality of losing their homes in one of the most affected regions of Los Angeles.

Cameron Mathison, a well-known actor on General Hospital, choked back tears as he shared memories from his journey back to the remnants of his California residence.

He shared with GMA on Thursday that he’s having trouble sleeping and has lost everything he owned. All he has now are a hoodie, a pair of pants, and two pairs of sneakers. Yet, he emphasized the need to concentrate on what we still possess and what we can be thankful for.

Mathison and his former spouse, Vanessa Arevalo, have resided in their Pasadena residence since 2012, sharing the space with their daughter Lelia (age 18) and son Lucas (age 21).

Unfortunately, Mathison isn’t alone in dealing with the devastation.

In the Pacific Palisades, the residence shared by actors Adam Brody (known for The O.C.) and Leighton Meester (from Gossip Girl) was unfortunately affected by the devastating wildfires as well.

On Wednesday, it was revealed that the stunning property, previously located within an exclusive celebrity neighborhood, had been transformed into a smoldering wreck.

The top had caved in, fire was ripping through the chambers, and dark smoke billowed from the shattered panes.

On Sunday, just two days before the fires started, the couple were spotted together at the Golden Globe Awards in public.

In the year 2019, they purchased a residence valued at approximately six and a half million dollars. This dwelling boasted five bedrooms, six bathrooms, and spanned over three levels, encompassing around 6,000 square feet.

Mandy Moore, Cary Elwes, Paris Hilton, James Woods, Billy Crystal, and his wife Janice each reported that their houses were destroyed by the Palisades Fire.

On Tuesday, Ben Affleck unexpectedly encountered a large wildfire spreading across the western part of Los Angeles as he returned home.

In the Pacific Palisades area where he resides, you’ll find a multitude of well-known celebrities such as Tom Hanks, Miles Teller, Reese Witherspoon, Adam Sandler, and Jhene Aiko.

Regrettably, at least five individuals perished in the catastrophe, leaving behind 2,000 buildings completely demolished, and countless others severely damaged, reduced to mere ashes.
