Nicki Minaj is sued by 'former manager' over alleged backstage assault on rapper's tour

As a seasoned entertainment news enthusiast, I find myself constantly amazed by the rollercoaster ride that is following the lives of celebrities. In this particular case, it seems that Nicki Minaj’s life has become a whirlwind of lawsuits and controversy, much like her music career.

Being a fan since her debut, I can’t help but feel a sense of dismay at the turn of events. It’s always heartbreaking to see someone who once brought so much joy and excitement to millions, now entangled in legal battles and accusations.

It’s no secret that celebrities lead lives that are far from ordinary, but it’s important to remember that they are still human beings with feelings and emotions. I can only imagine the stress and pressure Nicki must be under, trying to maintain her public persona while navigating these complex legal issues.

That being said, it’s also important to keep in mind that the entertainment industry is notoriously cutthroat, and it’s not uncommon for individuals to face adversity and challenges along the way. I hope that Nicki will find a resolution soon and be able to continue her successful career without any further complications.

On a lighter note, I can’t help but chuckle at the thought of Nicki Minaj in a courtroom, battling it out with gossip bloggers and superfans. It’s like watching a modern-day soap opera unfold right before our eyes!

In a surprising twist, I find myself in the midst of a legal tussle as a certain Brandon Garrett has taken me to court, alleging that I assaulted him. He claims to have been my former manager during my Pink Friday Tour back in 2024. I’m utterly flabbergasted by these accusations, as I hold our past work together in the highest regard and can’t fathom any incident of this nature occurring.

On Friday, Garrett lodged a fresh lawsuit, represented by attorney Thomas Feher, at the Los Angeles Superior Court. This lawsuit includes claims for battery and deliberate causing of emotional distress as well.

According to papers acquired by TMZ, it was asserted by the ex-employee, allegedly, that Minaj, aged 42, hit him during a backstage encounter at the Little Caesars Arena in Detroit after a concert in April 2024.

In response to DailyMail.com, Minaj’s legal representative, Judd Burstein, denounced the lawsuit as unfounded and without merit, adding that Minaj has not received an official summons in this case.

Burstein also suggested that Garrett was the rapper’s ‘ex assistant’ and not a ‘former manager.’

The reported event transpired as Garrett was called to the rapper’s private room to address a task he had been instructed to complete.

Garrett asserted that it was his responsibility to collect Nicki’s prescriptions, but since he was swamped with duties at the arena, he delegated the task to Luke Montgomery instead.

As a devoted supporter recounting the events, I’d say the lawsuit claimed that I, in response, apparently grew agitated, as reported by Billboard. I then loudly questioned the individual, asking, “Have you lost your mind, picking up my prescription like this?

She is reported to have exclaimed, ‘It appears you’ve completely lost your senses, and if my husband were here, he would surely knock out your teeth. You are walking a path towards death. By your actions, you have ruined your life entirely, and I will ensure that you never amount to anything.’

In the reported event, Garrett asserted that Nicki came near him at a certain moment and hit him on the right side of his face, which made him jerk his head back, causing his hat to fall off.

Rapper Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, also known as Nicki Minaj, was reportedly swift in securing protection around her, when an incident occurred involving Garrett. According to Garrett’s claims, Minaj struck his right wrist, resulting in him dropping the documents he had been holding, which subsequently fell onto the floor.

According to reports, the musician is said to have demanded that Garrett leave, using strong language, and then Garrett headed towards a restroom within the event space, where he secured the door from the inside.

Out of concern for his personal safety, Garrett stated that he spent several hours confined within the restroom – additionally, he phoned his companion to share the circumstances. (as reported by Billboard)

In the lawsuit, he asserted that at the given moment, he was experiencing intense pain in his wrist and discomfort on his face. However, due to his overwhelming fear and concern for his safety, he chose to remain in the bathroom instead.

After the reported event, Garrett asserted that he wasn’t permitted to reboard the tour bus for his return journey to Chicago, thereby stranding him in Detroit instead.

After flying back to Chicago, he spent the following few days in his hotel room due to feeling scared and traumatized, as stated by Billboard.

Garrett asserted that he submitted a report to the Chicago Police Department, after which he returned to Detroit to officially document the alleged assault as well.

In the legal case, the ex-employee claims they are filing a suit due to accusations of physical harm (assault), bodily injury (battery), and causing severe emotional trauma (intentional infliction of emotional distress).

Brandon is also seeking punitive, exemplary and general damages.

In simpler terms, DailyMail.com was informed by Nicki’s legal representative that no official accusation has been presented to Nicki yet, so they are not aware of the exact claims being made against her.

Contrarily, if the information about the lawsuit, as stated by TMZ, is accurate, it’s entirely baseless and without merit. We are assured that the allegations made by Mrs. Petty’s former assistant will be quickly dismissed in her favor.

The Pink Friday 2 World Tour kicked off last year in March 2024 and came to an end in October.

The tour encompassed a grand total of 79 performances, serving as a promotional event for her upcoming 2023 fifth studio album, titled “Pink Friday 2.”

Last June, there were reports indicating that Minaj was facing difficulty in selling tickets for the subsequent part of her tour.

2024 saw Nicki engaged in multiple legal disputes. Notably, in August, she successfully sued a gossip blogger for a retracted claim that she was a drug addict (specifically, a crackhead).

Approximately two years ago, the artist known as Super Bass found herself in a legal dispute with blogger Nosey Heaux (real name: Marley Green), following the upload of a video alleging that the musician had been snorting large amounts of cocaine.

In the town, Green was found to have publicly shared unverified rumors about Minaj using cocaine, and there was no proof to support these allegations. This information was reported by TMZ earlier on.

In simpler terms, the blogger should avoid resharing or quoting posts suggesting the singer is involved in anything illegal or morally questionable.

If Marley breaks the agreement outlined in the settlement, it could result in the media personality being forced to pay a penalty of $50,000 for each infraction to Minaj.

In that very August, a devoted fan of the rapper initiated a $5 million defamation lawsuit against the artist.

In 2017, the fan asserted that Nicki Minaj allegedly accused him of being a secretly paid spy planted to undermine her.

Additionally, he implicated Kenneth Petty, his wife’s husband, for supposedly physically assaulting him at the Super Bowl LIV gathering in 2020.
