34-year-old Chet appeared to switch from his previous Jamaican accent to a New York-influenced way of speaking when he spoke to fans in an Instagram video this past week, causing some surprise among the audience.

He said to his mother, “I’m stuck,” adding some other unclear phrases.

Chet’s video was shared on the account Hollywood Unlocked, leading commenters to tease the artist often referred to as the “White Boy Summer” rapper. One user even suggested that he might be grappling with a personal issue like identity confusion.

One remarked, ‘He gives off the vibe of a covert police officer,’ and another observed, ‘He’s as convincing an actor as his father.’

A third wrote, ‘I know Tom wakes up everyday amazed and flabbergasted that this is his child.’

Another added, ‘I hate when non-New Yorkers use the accent, it be losing me.’

‘Nobody even talks like that unless they just came home from jail,’ wrote a fifth. 

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve noticed a lively discussion unfolding in the comments section regarding Chet’s choice of words. Some folks have expressed that the term “bricked up” might be open to various interpretations, ranging from a physical condition such as being aroused, to more colloquial slang for substances.

‘Like what do you mean you bricked up? Just using the lingo all wrong,’ commented one.
