Space battles are often a tricky part of science fiction shows and movies. There’s a lot to think about – ship designs, weapons, how things move, and whether to base it all on real science. Getting the details right – things like how orbits work and the physics of space – can be really challenging. But these eight sci-fi shows, listed randomly, do a fantastic job with their space battles, either because they’re exciting to watch or because they feel scientifically accurate.

I’m really into this new show about Bode Donovan, an ex-con who teams up with firefighters to battle wildfires – it’s a great premise! But it sounds like CBS isn’t just planning to tell Bode’s story. Apparently, they were considering a spin-off starring Jared Padalecki – you know, Sam Winchester from Supernatural and Cordell Walker from Walker – as a character named Camden Casey, but that’s not happening now. It would have been awesome to see Padalecki lead another series, but it looks like that’s off the table for now.

Nike has updated the classic Shox TL SE with a more luxurious design. This special edition keeps the instantly recognizable shape of the original 2003 shoe, but adds higher-quality materials and improved construction to highlight its unique, technical features.

August 2026 on HBO Max will feature eight new releases, starting with the DC drama Lanterns on August 16th. The series stars Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler as Green Lantern detectives. Other highlights include the Anne Hathaway film Mother Mary from A24, a new edition of Hard Knocks following the Seattle Seahawks, the third season of Conan O’Brien Must Go, the neo-Western Normal with Bob Odenkirk, and the documentary series Monsters of God, which explores reptile smuggling.

Marvel Studios announced a new ‘Ghost Rider’ movie starring Ryan Gosling as the famous motorcycle-riding hero. Shawn Levy, who’s directing the upcoming ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ film, will also direct this movie, marking another collaboration with Gosling after their previous work on ‘Star Wars: Starfighter’. The announcement was made at the Marvel Studios panel during San Diego Comic-Con 2026, and the film is expected to hit theaters in 2028.
