Oppenheimer star Emma Dumont shared flirty scene with Rumer Willis in thriller What Lies Ahead – as they come out as trans masculine non-binary and reveal new name

As a devoted follower, I’m sharing that the celebrity, aged 30, recently disclosed this update on their Instagram account. They have switched from using ‘she/her’ pronouns to ‘they/them’ in their bio, reflecting their personal identity choice.

According to a representative’s statement to TMZ, they (Dumont) identify themselves as a transgender man who doesn’t strictly adhere to the binary gender categories.

In their private sphere, Nick is the preferred name for Dumont, while they continue to be recognized as Emma in their professional film and television roles.

Emma has updated their bio with the new name, adding ‘Nick Dumont’ to their profile. 

Emma is primarily recognized for her performances in the film “Oppenheimer,” portraying Oppenheimer’s sister-in-law Jackie, and the television show “The Gifted,” which is inspired by the X-Men series.

In one of their major performances so far, they acted alongside Rumer Willis in the romantic-mystery film “What Lies Ahead” which was released in 2019.

In the movie, we follow Emma, a young woman, as she embarks on a journey with her new beau’s enigmatic sibling, Rumer, who goes by the name of Raven.

Upon our initial encounter, I couldn’t help but feel a spark, and I blurted out, “I presume you’re Jessica? Wow, you’re far more beautiful than Kyle ever led me to believe!

Blushing, Jessica replies: ‘Oh gosh, thanks.’

‘So how long have you been dating my brother?’ Raven asks. 

‘Almost a month,’ Jessica says.

‘I thought it was way longer thna tha,t the way he talks about you,’ Raven says. 

The trailer sees the two women embark on a long drive together where Jessica panics after losing her phone and Raven steals fast food from a drive-through. 

Jessica swiftly comes to understand that Raven had taken her phone, and events start to spiral downward when Jessica’s playful demeanor takes on a darker, menacing tone.

Running her hands through Jessica’s hair, she suddenly pulls out a gun.   

She says, “I expect you to follow my guidelines, alright? Prove yourself worthy of my brother. Just remember, I can react swiftly if you act up, and you won’t even see what’s coming.

At the end of the trailer, Jessica screams for help while trapped in Raven’s car. 

In another scene from the film, the pair share a very flirty dance together in a bar.  

Regarding recent social media posts, it’s worth noting that Dumont (formerly known as Emma Noelle Roberts) hasn’t explicitly shared any public statements about their coming out yet.

The star’s latest Instagram posts signal a significant shift from their glamorous red carpet image.

In May, Dumont unveiled a daring, cropped, uneven hairstyle, marking a change from their typical long, sleek tresses.

‘Nice, new era,’ a fan commented on the change at the time.

Emma, too, has adopted a less formal look, as evident in their recent Tuesday post, which features them wearing t-shirts and sunglasses.

Among their notable works are ABC’s Mind Games, T@gged from AwesomenessTV, Freeform’s Pretty Little Liars and The Fosters, and The Magicians on SYFY.

Born in Seattle, Dumont’s early passions included ballet, violin, and modeling.

Acting was their greatest enthusiasm, which propelled them into acting roles for independent movies and TV shows during their teenage years.

Apart from his work in acting and the arts, Dumont has a strong interest in mechanical engineering and computer programming as well.

A Mensa member and former participant in FIRST Robotics, they continue to mentor young people in the program.
