As a lifestyle expert, I find myself consistently inspired by stories of resilience, hope, and the power of community. Jackie ‘O’ Henderson‘s life journey is a testament to these very qualities. Her emotional reunion with Ziad, the young man whose life she helped save through her radio show, is a poignant reminder of the impact we can have on others, even in the smallest of ways.

On a particularly emotional note, Jackie ‘O’ Henderson encountered an unexpected surprise during her book-signing event in Penrith, Sydney this past Saturday.

The radio host, aged 49, felt deeply moved and tearful upon meeting her 20-year-old fan, Ziad, whom she had assisted in saving his life back in 2016.

At the tender age of 12, Ziad was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Fortunately, during this challenging time, Jackie and her fellow host, Kyle Sandilands, successfully collected $150,000 to fund his life-saving operation.

After eight years had passed, the once-young lad was now a mature gentleman who surprisingly showed up at Jackie’s book signing event to express his gratitude for her role in his healing process.

The media figure’s meeting with Ziad and his mom was captured on video, momentarily halting her lengthy book signing event to share a warm hug.

After reconnecting with Ziad, Jackie remarked, “It’s clear he’s matured well. He’s content, in good health, flourishing, and living an excellent life.

She noted, “It was truly heartwarming to realize that our radio audience united to bring about that outcome.

2016 saw Ziad make an appearance on The Kyle and Jackie O Show, with the intention being that the show would aid his family in gathering funds necessary for a vital operation.

In just ten minutes after going on air with KIIS FM radio, Ziad’s heartwarming tale managed to stir the emotions of the audience, prompting them to donate over $150,000 towards the removal of his tumor.

In her meeting with Jackie, Ziad’s mother expressed that it was due to the strength of their community and the platform they have built that her son is where he is today.

In her memoir The Whole Truth, Jackie mentioned the tale of Ziad, expressing that it had always lingered with her, leaving her curious about his current state in life.

Apart from revealing his battle with a dependency on prescription medications, the radio personality is now celebrating his second year without these substances.

In the spirit of transparency and wellness, I want to share my personal journey. Last November 2022, I sought solace at The Betty Ford Center – a renowned rehabilitation clinic – as I embarked on a 28-day battle against addiction that had crept up during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Jackie openly disclosed that during her peak of addiction, she was consuming approximately 10 to 12 Stilnox or Ambien sleeping tablets, as well as 24 Panadeine Forte pain relievers, every single day.

Jackie’s close companion, Pip Edwards, has spoken out about her support for Jackie during times when it was revealed that she faced struggles with substance abuse.

On Saturday, the 44-year-old activewear business owner shared with Stellar Magazine that Jackie’s sincerity serves as an inspiration for her.

In a straightforward manner, Pip expressed that she believed it was deeply healing for her, and it was important for her to embrace her genuine self. There’s no reason to feel embarrassed about this, and to those who criticize, she simply asked them to move on. She apologized for the strong language used.

On the night Jackie broadcasted her story over the radio, I paid her a visit at her home to offer comfort and give her a warm embrace.

According to the founder of P.E Nation, they have a very strong spiritual connection and their friendship is extremely tight.

Overwhelmed with joy, I can’t help but share that on the significant day of Thursday, November 14th, my beloved role model, Jackie, triumphantly celebrated her hard-earned two years of sobriety – a momentous milestone I couldn’t be more proud to witness.

At the latest Marie Claire’s Women of the Year Awards, Jackie shared how she celebrated the event with her friends.

‘I think we will go out for dinner and celebrate, for sure,’ Jackie proudly shared.
