The surprising way Justin Bieber rescued Martha Stewart’s career after she faced losing everything over prison stint

The surprising way Justin Bieber rescued Martha Stewart's career after she faced losing everything over prison stint

As a dedicated follower of Martha Stewart’s illustrious career, I can confidently say that her encounter with Justin Bieber at the Comedy Central Roast in 2015 was a game-changer. The businesswoman, who had faced her fair share of trials and tribulations, including imprisonment, found herself catapulted back into the limelight thanks to her witty humor and unparalleled charm.

Martha Stewart has revealed how an encounter with Justin Bieber helped rescue her flailing career.

As a renowned lifestyle guru, finding myself at the age of 83, I’ve spent decades sharing my wisdom on homekeeping and personal style. However, an unfortunate turn of events led to my incarceration in 2004, which ultimately resulted in me relinquishing control over my media empire.

Although she initially secured a daily talk show with her own name, the program’s appeal eventually faded, causing a decrease in her social and cultural influence.

In her Netflix documentary, Martha candidly discussed how participating in the 2015 Comedy Central Roast of Justin Bieber significantly boosted her public image and rekindled her fame.

Martha pondered, “I’ve never done a roast before, my publicist said, ‘This is a bit beyond your usual circle!’

Yet she was determined to give it a go, and found herself sitting alongside host Kevin Hart, Shaquille O’Neal, Ludacris, Snoop Dogg, Natasha Leggero, Hannibal Buress, Chris D’Elia, Jeff Ross, Pete Davidson and Will Ferrell as his Anchorman character Ron Burgundy.

At the gathering, Martha left everyone laughing uncontrollably with her witty remarks like this: “Justin, it’s impressive to have 60 million followers on Twitter, but in prison, I suppose the only area people will be trailing you to is the shower.

During the evening, Martha’s imprisonment became a recurring topic of humor, and she took it in stride by joking about her experiences. She quipped that she was there to offer Justin Bieber advice on surviving prison, suggesting he learn how to craft a homemade weapon (a shank) and secure respect by allegedly ‘taking on’ the largest lesbian inmate.

After pause for laughter, she quipped: ‘And Shaq, I hope your mum still doesn’t hold a grudge.’

Martha then told Justin that he needs to ‘settle down’ and ‘find yourself the right gal’.

However, the person needs to be someone equal to you, someone influential, affluent, and renowned – someone who shares similar interests like smoking a joint or engaging in the rare occurrence of a threesome,” she pointed out.

‘I’m talking about a player in the boardroom and a freak in the bedroom. So Justin, my final piece of advice is: “Call me.”‘

Martha was given a standing applause following her hilarious roast, and Justin enthusiastically praised her by calling her ‘extraordinary’ before embracing her once she concluded.

In their observations regarding Martha’s influence, both her publicist and journalists commented that she was the central figure or main attraction of the roast event.

‘It made waves and catapulted her into a younger audience.’

The roast is also where Martha met Snoop Dogg and the pair’s unexpected friendship blossomed.

Additionally, she acknowledged that being seated beside Snoop during the roast and him smoking marijuana resulted in her unintentionally experiencing a high together with him.

Martha’s recently released Netflix documentary is a hit among fans, yet she openly confessed her dislike for the concluding sequences. She felt that the latter part lacked effort compared to the first half.

In the movie directed by R.J. Cutler, I, as one who followed her journey closely, find myself under the glaring focus of the spotlight. This film chronicles my transformation from a teenage model to an influential figure, paving the way as America’s first self-made female billionaire.

Despite the media buzz generated by Martha’s open discussions about her 29-year marriage to her former spouse Andy, including their extramarital relationships, the magnate expresses dissatisfaction with the documentary.

In her candid, unrestricted conversation recently, Martha elaborated on several aspects that displeased her – among them, less-than-favorable camera positions and tales omitted during editing.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, let me share a personal anecdote: The depiction of me shuffling around the garden, seemingly alone and stooped over, was not my preferred vision. I requested a change in scenery, but regrettably, my suggestion was declined. Needless to say, I expressed my displeasure.

‘I hate those last scenes. Hate them.’

To The New York Times, Martha shared that she had suffered a tear in her Achilles tendon and had undergone surgery as a result, which is why she has been limping lately.

‘But again, he [R.J.] doesn’t even mention why — that I can live through that and still work seven days a week,’ she quipped.

Martha found it especially annoying that R.J. persisted with an unattractive camera angle, even though she had requested him to adjust it.

She stated, “‘He was using three cameras on me,’ she said. ‘Yet he persistently chose the most unflattering perspective. I told him, ‘Please, avoid that view! That’s hardly flattering. You have three cameras at your disposal; opt for a different angle instead.’ He refused to change it.’

But the entire documentary wasn’t a total flop in Martha’s eyes, admitting she ‘loved the first half’.
