As a seasoned observer of the world of entertainment, I must say that Joe Lycett’s latest revelations about his personal life and sexuality are both refreshing and enlightening. His candidness and openness about his feelings are a testament to his journey of self-discovery and acceptance.

Joe Lycett has received an abundance of congratulatory messages from his well-known acquaintances such as Carol Vorderman and Sophie Ellis-Bextor, following the news that he’s become a parent for the first time.

In an unexpected turn of events this week, I, the comedian, found myself delighting fans by disclosing the arrival of my newborn son with an enigmatic partner.

After posting a photo holding his newborn, Joe’s friends and followers are filling up the comment section with heartwarming messages instead.

Sophie Ellis-Bextor expressed: ‘Congratulations!! XXX’; and Daisy May Cooper conveyed: ‘Oh my goodness, this is absolutely delightful’.

Carol Vorderman expressed: ‘Yippee! Here they are 💕💕, showering lots of love to all of you!’; Traitors actor Paul Gorton replied: ‘Congratulations Father!’ (This version maintains the original sentiment while making it easier for a wider audience to understand.)

Fans commented: “This brought tears to my eyes as a new mother. Congrats! What a fortunate child, and what great fortune for you. I hope everything is going well for you all. Best wishes!” or

In April, it was disclosed that Joe had been in a relationship. Earlier, he had mentioned that people often assume his personality makes him gay because of misconceptions about his character.

Instead, he referred to himself as bisexual previously due to finding it challenging to articulate his emotions and this label seemed more straightforward for him.

As your trusted lifestyle guide, I prefer to keep my personal relationships discreet, sharing glimpses only sparingly. To maintain the privacy of my beloved, I’ve chosen a pseudonym when discussing our life together.

As your go-to lifestyle guide, I’m excited to share some personal updates from my life! In the latest season of Late Night Lycett on Channel 4, I revealed that I’ve entered a brand-new relationship and also had an enlightening conversation about my sexual orientation. Stay tuned for more insights and experiences!

During the show in April, he disclosed to the audience that he was secretly dating someone – having earlier mentioned that he finds it challenging to discuss his sexual orientation.

Joe shared: “Much has evolved since the previous season; I have some personal updates – I’m currently in a relationship.

For a long time, I’ve openly shared that I identify as bisexual, yet many people assume I’m gay due to my overall demeanor…well, I do have a girlfriend now, and the response has been incredibly supportive.

On Bimini Bon-Boulash’s podcast “The Pieces,” Joe shared an uncommon perspective on his personal relationships by revealing that he uses a pseudonym for his partner, maintaining her privacy and secrecy.

He mentioned that he has a cat named Winston and a partner who goes by another name. However, he doesn’t reveal her name as her profession requires privacy.

‘I call her Denise because she hates the name Denise, so, uh, I live with Denise.’

Previously open about his sexuality, Joe subsequently engaged in a conversation with the ex-star of Ru Paul’s Drag Race regarding identifying as pansexual.

He mentioned that he finds it intriguing to be in a prolonged romance with a woman, as many seem to express surprise or confusion.

Joe added: “For a while during my school years, I assumed that since I was drawn to men, I must be gay. But then I paused and said to myself, ‘Whoa, whoa, whoa, let’s take it slow.’

When someone inquires, I simply respond with “bisexual,” as it’s a commonly recognized term that offers a swift response.

I believe a more suitable description for me is pansexual, meaning I don’t find attraction based on a person’s gender alone.

Joe continued by admitting that at times he finds it challenging to express his sexuality, and added humorously: “I’m not entirely sure about the mechanics of it myself, you know, since I’m not exactly an expert on explaining it to those who might be considered simple-minded.

‘I find myself drawn to men at times, but not every man. It’s important to clarify that my attraction isn’t based on them being men per se.’

Frequently, a well-defined upper body can be quite satisfying, especially the chiseled abs and sculpted arms. It’s all about those defined lines and muscular structure. The torso, with its potential danger, is indeed captivating when it’s well-built.

Absolutely, irrespective of one’s gender, the point stands. Frankly, I can’t explain why it is so, but that seems to be the case. It’s quite peculiar, as this seems to imply that sexuality encompasses more than just male and female.

In simpler terms, my mind sees me as open to any gender when it comes to romantic or emotional attraction – this is what we call being pansexual. That’s how I personally identify.

Last Friday, it was announced that Joe experienced fatherhood for the very first time when he posted an endearing picture on Instagram showing him tenderly holding his newly born son.

Next to the picture, Joe wrote on Instagram: “A heartfelt thank you note from me to the exceptional @bham_womens hospital.

My initial interaction with them occurred many years back, providing care for a friend during a surgical procedure. More recently, I had another experience with them, this time skillfully assisting in the delivery of a baby – who turns out to be my own son.

‘The exceptional care and heartfelt compassion shown by his mother and him was truly remarkable; from the prenatal classes, outstanding midwives, specialists, doctors, surgeons, and nurses, all the way to the continued support in the community. We also appreciated their delightful baked potatoes. Birmingham is indeed fortunate to have them, and I will always be eternally thankful for everything they’ve done.’

As an over-the-moon dad, I’ve found myself utterly smitten in this new role, but alas, it seems my cherished fatherhood has me tethered to Rob and Josh’s podcast. Regrettably, we are turning down any interview requests concerning this matter as the rights to our inaugural family snapshot have already been granted to Autotrader.

As an over-the-moon fan, I can’t help but gush about the heartwarming sight of Joe bundling up the little one, sporting an adorable blue knitted beanie, with his black coat as they ventured out for a walk together.

Supporters swiftly offered their well-wishes to the comedian, yet some remained skeptical, wondering if the whole thing might just be a complex joke – something the celebrity has a reputation for pulling off.

Comments included: ‘I can’t tell if this is satire but I’m here for it either way.’

Hey there, I just want to extend my heartfelt congratulations! But let me confess, as I look at that unique accessory on your head, it’s hard not to imagine a variety of things. It’s so charming and versatile, I could almost picture a playful puppy, a curious kitten, or even the inner workings of a well-oiled gearbox in there! Keep shining, you’re like a mystery box full of surprises!

‘Congratulations!! (unless this is an elaborate prank in which case, congratulations!)’

‘I never know what’s real and what’s not when Lycett is involved.’

Yet, Birmingham Women’s Hospital expressed warm sentiments with a message that said, ‘Once more, hearty congratulations! We are thrilled to have been part of your remarkable journey towards this life-altering achievement. Wishing you all the success and countless tender moments in the time ahead.’
