Nicole Kidman tears up on the red carpet following the death of her mother Janelle – as she reveals shock weight loss

As a dedicated follower, I find myself deeply moved by the heartfelt journey of Nicole Kidman, a woman whose talent and grace have captivated us for decades. Her latest red carpet appearance, though stunningly fashionable, was tinged with a poignant sadness that resonates profoundly.

At the season two premiere of Special Ops: Lioness in Los Angeles on Wednesday, Nicole Kidman emotionally confessed about her significant weight reduction.

The Australian actress, 57, became emotional while opening up about her mother Janelle‘s recent death and acknowledged her difficult time grieving.

‘I wish my mama was here,’ she told The Hollywood Reporter on the red carpet.

‘It’s been hard. It’s a hard road. I’m hanging in there.’

Kidman’s mother Janelle passed away last month aged 84.

The Oscar-winning star also displayed her shock weight loss on the red carpet, putting on a daring display as she modelled a backless, cowl-neck top and a bright yellow midi skirt with whimsical, dramatic pleats.

The look showed off her very thinning frame, including her torso and slender arms.

Accompanied by a stylish ensemble, Kidman adorned herself with breathtaking jewelry from Roberto Coin, which sparkled like diamonds.

She sported bedazzled, chunky hoop earrings teamed with matching, white gold and diamond rings.

She paired her bold ensemble with white, pointed-toe pumps with a Mary Jane straps and bright red bottoms.

She slicked back her strawberry blonde tresses into a polished, half-up and half-down hairstyle.

Kidman accentuated her elegance by sporting a radiant dew-kissed make-up on her face, along with a captivating smoky eye and a vibrant, pink lip gloss.

She also had a black blazer jacket with her, and at times, she was seen holding it as she struck poses on the red carpet.

Janelle died just hours before Nicole was awarded Best Actress for her role in Babygirl on the final day of Venice Film Festival.

Today, I reached Venice, only to learn soon afterward that my remarkable, courageous mother, Janelle Ann Kidman, had sadly passed away. This news was shared during my victory celebration, as stated by director Halina Reijn.

I’m utterly astonished and must attend to my loved ones, yet this recognition truly belongs to her. She molded me, led me, and crafted who I am today.

“I’m incredibly thankful to have the chance to mention her name among you, thanks to Halina. The blend of life and art is painfully poignant, and it truly saddens me. We care for each one of you deeply.

A week on, Nicole finally spoke up, posting a poignant message on Instagram together with some previously unseen images of the matriarch.

In a heartfelt message, I, a devoted admirer, am humbly grateful to the countless souls who’ve extended their sympathy and support as The Perfect Couple star and I navigate our time of sorrow together.

Nicole expressed gratitude on behalf of herself, her sister, and their entire family, acknowledging the overwhelming love and generosity they’ve experienced this past week,” is a paraphrased version that maintains the original meaning while sounding more natural and easy to read.

The messages of love and appreciation sent to us about our Mother mean the world to us, and words cannot truly convey how grateful we are. On behalf of our entire family, thank you for giving us space during this difficult time as we support one another.

For years, my deeply cherished mother, Janelle, has been not just a source of unwavering support but also a significant influence on my professional journey. I’ve had the privilege of sharing an exceptionally close bond with her.

Nicole hails from Honolulu but spent her childhood in Sydney under the care of her mother, Janelle, and her deceased father, a psychologist, who passed away in September 2014.

Following their time in the U.S., the actress from Moulin Rouge and her younger sibling Antonia predominantly grew up in Sydney.

As a teen, Nicole nurtured her love for acting, which eventually led her to international stardom. Her parents were always behind her, providing unwavering support throughout this journey.

Throughout the years, they both stayed actively engaged in her professional life, and Nicole frequently acknowledged that she’d seek her mother’s counsel even then.

Nicole shared an equally intimate bond with her father, Anthony, and was deeply saddened upon his passing due to a heart attack in September 2014, at the age of 75.

Previously, the Academy Award-winning actress openly shared that the unexpected demise of her father, along with a series of subsequent losses, left a profound impact on her.

She shared with the Sydney Morning Herald in 2020 that she had experienced death as an unexpected event. Unlike some who have witnessed a gradual decline leading to someone’s passing, her encounters have been more immediate; people were simply taken from her.

“I’ve experienced it multiple times, and every time I mention it, I can’t help but feel anxious because I worry that it will happen again. I’m still very apprehensive about the possibility.
