While many science fiction books contributed to the development of cyberpunk, William Gibson’s Neuromancer is considered particularly foundational to the genre. Despite its huge influence, however, Neuromancer has never been successfully adapted into a film or TV series. Several attempts have been made over the years, but none have come to fruition.

What looked good in the comic book didn’t quite translate when we started thinking about how it would look on screen. Plus, Juliet’s face was already on all the promotional posters, so completely writing her character out for a whole season just wasn’t an option.
