As a seasoned observer of the world of entertainment, I find myself deeply moved by Tamzin Outhwaite’s poignant and thoughtful words about her current state of mind and heart. With a career that spans decades and a life that seems as vibrant and dynamic as her acting roles, it’s refreshing to see an individual who values solitude and self-discovery over the constant whirlwind of fame and relationships.

Tamzin Outhwaite has revealed the idea of dating ‘fills her with horror’ as she opens up about her split from actor Tom Childs.

Actress from EastEnders, aged 53, disclosed during a conversation on the Suddenly Single podcast that she’s been unattached for several months now, dedicating her time to personal growth instead.

After ending her romantic involvement with Tom, her much younger partner, and going through the dissolution of her marriage a decade ago, she now believes it’s important for her personal growth to experience life independently as a single woman.

The television host publicly announced that she parted ways with her partner Tom, aged 33, around a month ago, following six years as a couple.

The former couple met at a yoga class in 2017 but broke up earlier this summer.

Previously, I shared my life with the charismatic Tom Ellis, known for his role as Miranda. However, our journey together ended in 2014 amidst rumors of infidelity. It is said that during their work on the American series “Once Upon a Time,” Tom was involved with actress Emile De Ravin.

The actress shared insights with podcast hosts Tim Vincent and Siobhan Wykes regarding her life after the separation, admitting that she feels apprehensive about venturing into dating once more.

She mentioned that she’s been unattached for several months now, and she feels like she needed this period of being single to last longer for her personal growth.

In terms of personal relationships, I’m bonded with myself, my kids, and an ex-partner whom I shared six and a half years of life. Despite the change in our romantic status, we remain exceptionally close friends.

“The thought of going on a date sends shivers down my spine due to the discomfort involved. It doesn’t matter if someone suggested that Brad Pitt himself wanted to take me out; I would still decline.

In my perspective, I find myself drawn towards prioritizing self-care at this point in time. I’m not actively seeking to share my journey with someone else beyond my cherished children.

She added: ‘ I find the idea of being with the same person for the rest of my life horrifying.’

Tamzin went on to reveal that she no longer believes she is supposed to be in a relationship with someone for the rest of her life and can’t imagine settling down with ‘the one’ anymore.

One could argue that those who maintain long-term relationships face many challenges, but they choose to persevere because they are determined to work things out and face the difficulties side by side.

She commented, “Indeed, that’s a testament to true love. Kudos! I hold immense admiration for those who commit to such relationships. However, I’m starting to doubt if some of us are destined to be with just one partner for the entirety of our lives.

In her own words, the actress from “New Tricks” admitted that she struggles with some unhealthy patterns in her relationships with men. She shared that she tends to pursue men aggressively, hoping to keep a connection alive, but often ends up feeling overlooked as a result.

She also mentioned that she’s making an effort to learn and adopt a more positive behavior, instead of continuing negative habits learned from toxic influences.

She mentioned, “Previously, I was hardwired for turmoil, but now I’m learning to rewire myself towards tranquility. I quite like this new, peaceful version of myself!

‘I tend to approach things in a manner that is similar to many men. I prefer going with the flow and living fully in the present moment. I don’t have any specific needs from a partner, such as children, marriage, or wealth, which gives me a sense of freedom. In some ways, I exhibit characteristics often associated with an alpha male.’

Currently, Tamzin is focusing on her children and finds joy in spending time with them, content without a partner in her life.

As a lifestyle enthusiast, I wholeheartedly believe that time is a priceless commodity, and it’s crucial for me to carve out moments where I can find joy and solitude amidst the chaos of parenthood. This is my personal choice, a sacred space for me to recharge and be at peace.

“I find myself seeking solitude, desiring to explore new places on my own. The freedom from taking care of others’ emotions or possessions appeals to me greatly. In fact, I yearn for the tranquility and occasional quiet that such independence brings.

The celebrity shared that she no longer possesses the emotional or cognitive room for a romantic involvement, and finds contentment in her current state.

She shared: “My father, aged 78, resides at the end of my garden. My home is bustling, filled with two dogs and two children. I receive assistance with the kids, and so does she, as we both have two children each. Our household, in essence, is a lively, noisy, joyful one. Currently, I don’t find myself mentally or emotionally equipped to accommodate a relationship.

Discussing her breakup with her last boyfriend, actor Tom Childs, she shared with Tim and Siobhan that their relationship had reached its end, implying they had transitioned into a close friendship.

She mentioned that it appeared they were transitioning towards a ‘friendship phase’. It’s often the case where one person desires less of a romantic involvement than the other, but in this situation, she felt it represented a compassionate, mature, and considerate separation.

For over six years, I cherished our relationship deeply and hold those memories dear. I believe our bond will remain unchanged throughout time. Our separation was unique – it was mature, respectful, and kind-hearted. As for the future, I’m unsure if I am ready to care for another heart besides my own and that of my children.

Although Tamzin portrayed the split as friendly, she acknowledged learning valuable lessons from their six-year relationship. If she were to begin dating in the future, Tamzin expressed that she wouldn’t allow anyone to reside with her.

She said: ‘The idea of dating now, I certainly wouldn’t let anyone move in with me.’

And the star is not convined by dating apps.

She told the podcast that she has never tried them and isn’t sure she would want to.

Instead, Tamzin prefers to gauge people based on their energy and vibes, rather than relying on swiping through photos to make judgments about them.

She expressed: “I’m unsure about how to begin dating…Typically, I choose based on a person’s energy, vibes, aura, and overall demeanor. But how can I sense these things when interacting through a screen?

At present, Tamzin isn’t showing much interest, but she hasn’t definitively closed the door on re-entering the dating world.

In her own words, she shared, “When my children grow up and leave home, I may feel a bit lonely and consider going out on a date. I truly believe that fate plays a role and it’s all about the bond you share with someone.
