Ready or Not 2 confirmed with Samara Weaving and Radio Silence returning

As a die-hard fan of the twisted, wickedly entertaining genre of horror-comedy films, hearing that a sequel to the masterpiece that is “Ready or Not” is officially in the works has me positively giddy with excitement! I’ve been following this film since its release in 2019, and have eagerly devoured every morsel of news regarding its potential continuation.

Hooray! We can now confirm with certainty that there will indeed be a second installment of “Ready or Not” following months of uncertainty. On October 12th, the team behind the original film, Radio Silence, made the exciting announcement at a screening for the 2019 movie that launched it all, “Ready or Not.” Here’s what we currently know about the upcoming sequel titled “Ready or Not 2“.

The start date for the movie hasn’t been determined yet, and they haven’t mentioned a release date either. This isn’t surprising since the sequel has only recently been announced, so we’re probably still a ways off from finding out more details. However, it’s been confirmed that Samara Weaving will be reprising her role in the film, as she played Grace in the original production.

In September 2024, during an interview with ComicBook.com, actress Samara Weaving hinted at a possible sequel, expressing that she and the rest of the crew were fully committed. Initially, it was assumed she was referring to Radio Silence, given their involvement in the first film, and now, it’s officially confirmed that was indeed who she was referencing. Radio Silence is a filmmaking duo, consisting of Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (known for “Scream VI” and “Abigail”). They were the directors of “Ready or Not”.

The original writers of the first Ready or Not movie, Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy, are planning to team up again and write the script for Ready or Not 2. They will also take on executive producer roles in this upcoming film. Joining them as executive producers are Chad Villella and Tara Farney. Furthermore, Tripp Vinson, Bradley J. Fischer, William Sherak, and James Vanderbilt are also named as producers for the project.

As a passionate gamer, I’m buzzing with anticipation for the upcoming sequel. Back in April, Radio Silence gave Entertainment Weekly a sneak peek, and let me tell you, the hints they dropped about the new installment have me on the edge of my seat! When asked about a potential Ready or Not 2, they mentioned that a script has already been penned, and from their description, it sounds like this sequel is going to be an absolute game-changer.

The movie titled “Ready or Not” revolves around the story of Grace, a young bride, who marries into an affluent family. During her wedding night, she finds herself unexpectedly involved in a lethal game of hide-and-seek as part of a peculiar wedding tradition. This tradition requires her to evade her newly acquired relatives until dawn, as they hunt her down using firearms, crossbows, and various weapons.

In the cast of Ready or Not, we have Adam Brody, Mark O’Brien, Elyse Levesque, Nicky Guadagni, Henry Czerny, and Andie MacDowell as new additions to the weaving process.
