Shawn Mendes brings Nikki Lund ‘to tears’ during Nashville show as he talks pal who died of a drug overdose

Shawn arrived promptly on stage and left everyone astounded! His vocal talent was extraordinary, and his guitar abilities surpassed expectations,” she shared with DailyMail.com, expressing that she was taken aback by his exceptional performance.

And there were some sad moments, too. 

Shawn composed a song titled “Golden Heart,” which he dedicated to a friend from his past who tragically passed away due to an overdose. Although he didn’t mention the friend’s name, their bond was evidently deep. Shawn expressed that he still yearns for his presence and the moment was deeply emotional. It appeared to me that Shawn almost shed tears, as the situation was so heartbreaking.

‘The song brought a lot of audience members to tears, it was very emotional. I welled up too.’

Additionally, Mendes spoke about a challenging period he experienced and introduced the individuals who supported him during that tough phase.

When Shawn played Golden Heart, the fans were thrilled.

The reason for this, to some extent, is that the melody was created in Tennessee: “He had produced the track at Dark Horse Studios right here in Nashville, making it quite personal to him,” Lund explained to DailyMail.com.

As he spoke, the crowd erupted into thunderous applause – such a heartwarming moment, as everyone was deeply moved by his composition created in Nashville, commented Nikki, dressed stylishly in a black leather top and mini skirt paired with boots.

‘He play a Jeff Buckley cover hallelujah which was beautiful and just so perfect. 

He introduced two men who he now considers like family, whom he met during his break, onto the stage. He explained that these individuals were crucial in helping him get through a challenging and difficult period in his life.

It seems that Shawn didn’t specify the exact timeline, but there were whispers among the crowd suggesting this challenging period might have occurred following his separation from Camila Cabello. Many were curious if this hardship could be linked to her, and some even voiced her name as a possibility.

‘Shawn did not react when people kept sayin Camila. He ignored it.

‘Shawn also said that he recorded the entire album with those friends who helped him.

‘They kept hugging each other on stage. They all seemed very happy and close.’

And the crowd loved Shawn’s performance and on stage comments as he opened up like never before. 

‘The crowd was loud and welcoming… very proud to have him in Nashville,’ added Lund.

Nikki stated that the individual expressed fondness for Nashville, mentioning it triggers many pleasant recollections. Notably, Nikki attended elementary school alongside Kim Kardashian and Paris Hilton in Beverly Hills.

‘His fans are all very nice and kind and friendly,’ she added.

They repeatedly exclaimed “I love you” and “I love you, Shawn,” to which he would always respond with endearing phrases like “I love you too, sweetheart” or “I owe my presence here entirely to you” or “I’m deeply thankful for you, my angels.

‘He played a lot of blues infused riffs. Very musical.’

Lund is a multi hyphenate artist. 

She’s a renowned singer-songwriter who consistently tops the Billboard charts, most famously for her duet “You & I” with the guitarist from Bon Jovi, Richie Sambora.
