Brantley Gilbert pauses show while wife gives birth on tour bus, then he returns to stage
As a seasoned movie critic who has seen countless dramas unfold on and off the big screen, I must say that Brantley Gilbert‘s real-life story surpasses any script I’ve ever read. The Off the Rails Tour took an unexpected turn when Gilbert became a father on stage, and it was nothing short of a Hollywood blockbuster.
On a memorable Friday evening in Mississippi, Brantley Gilbert’s concert took an unexpected turn: As the country-rock artist was performing live, his wife welcomed their third child into the world. This momentous occasion necessitated a brief interruption in the show to allow for the safe arrival of their newborn son.
Following the commencement of his Off the Rails Tour in Tupelo, Mississippi, the “Bottoms Up” performer was abruptly taken off stage for an unexpected backstage situation, as revealed by a video birth announcement shared on Instagram by Gilbert over the weekend. This urgent matter turned out to be Amber, his wife, going into labor on their tour bus, making it potentially the wildest night in Gilbert’s life.
In a different setting: Gilbert, aged 39, posted videos showing him hastily exiting the stage and dashing through the backstage doors at the Cadence Bank Arena. Following this, he was captured on video calling his mother to announce the arrival of her “new grandchild.” Additionally, Gilbert shared footage of his wife and newborn baby son on the tour bus, along with a video of his return to the stage to complete the performance.
“We got a baby,” he said into the stage mic as the crowd cheered him on.
Gilbert posted on Instagram that last night was possibly the most exhilarating night of his life, as he witnessed a truly remarkable woman perform a remarkable act. This experience is one he will always remember.
“Thank you to our road family for rallying around us, [midwife] Brittany Thornton for helping us bring this little dude into the world, Tupelo, Mississippi, for showing us mad love and support, and most of all… Amber Gilbert, for letting me love you and showing me EXACTLY how incredibly strong a woman can be. I love you,” he added.
In a shared message, Amber Gilbert expressed their joy over their son’s arrival, saying: “We’ll always remember your journey into our lives, and we’re eagerly anticipating all that you will accomplish here. Welcome to the world, Abram Howell Gilbert, born on October 24.
The Gilberts, who tied the knot in 2015, are proud parents to Barrett, aged 6, and Braylen, aged 5. Just three days after welcoming a new family member, they graced Fox News’ “Fox & Friends” with their presence to discuss an exhilarating evening they had experienced.
“I can’t say this was on my bingo card,” the singer said Monday on the morning show.
I was informed that we had a midwife accompanying us, ensuring readiness should an event occur. We believed we still had about a week’s time before the baby made its arrival, though.
“We didn’t,” he said.
Amber Gilbert stated, “In a blink of an eye, I transitioned from reading a book in my bed to phoning the midwife. Essentially, I had already prepared myself for action, not for him.
Regarding going back on stage, Brantley Gilbert stated that they “never imagined it would occur during the performance,” but had playfully suggested he’d return with his baby, introducing the child to the audience much like Simba is presented in Disney’s “The Lion King.
At the moment when the singer had to choose between remaining with his wife or going back on stage, he observed that she had an expression of comprehension.
Amber Gilbert stated, “I anticipated it wouldn’t take long and he’d return, giving me enough time to freshen up. Thus, I could spend a brief moment with my little one. It turned out alright.
