Ashley James reveals son Alfie, 3, has been rushed to A&E after suffering a nasty fall - as presenter returns home following a 'child free' weekend

As a dedicated follower, I find myself deeply moved by Ashley James‘ recent experiences, and her courage to share them with the world. Her life as a mother, partner, and public figure is a constant rollercoaster of joy, challenges, and learning moments – much like any other person’s journey.

Ashley James acknowledged that her week began on a somber note when her eldest child had to be urgently taken to the hospital due to a painful fall.

On Monday, the television personality shared on Instagram that their three-year-old son, Alfie, was taken to a nearby emergency room along with his father, due to an ankle injury he sustained the day prior.

In addition to the difficulties, Ada, their 19-month-old daughter and youngest child with partner Tommy Andrews, fell sick just as Ashley, aged 37, was getting ready for a business gathering.

Originally posted on social media, the ex-cast member of Made In Chelsea, recently returned from a weekend trip, interacted with her unwell child while updating followers on her bustling morning routine.

As a seasoned parent of two energetic toddlers, I can confidently say that my recent child-free weekend was a much-needed respite from the round-the-clock care and sleepless nights. But alas, it seems my peaceful return home was short-lived as my little girl took ill in the middle of the night. Upon entering the room, she greeted me with a weary voice, “Mommy, weren’t you? You know how it goes when our little ones get sick.” The tiredness etched on her face mirrored my own, reminding me that no matter how much I relish those brief moments of freedom, the responsibilities and joys of parenthood are always waiting to greet me at home.

‘She’s not at nursery today as she’s a bit poorly, aren’t you? You’ve got a bit of a temp. And then Tommy is at A&E with Alfie.’

Mentioning that Alfie tripped at a nearby park with his father, she also shared: ‘He adores the fireman’s pole, yet he tumbled down from a significant height, and he’s been grumbling about his tender ankle.’

In essence, Tommy is in the emergency room with Alf, and here’s the deal with Alf: He tends to exaggerate any illness he has, requests ice packs excessively, and can sometimes act rather theatrically, making him something like a “drama king.

However, upon waking, he expressed that his ankle was aching, and after that, Tommy helped dress him, causing him to shed tears profusely.

Today seems to be wrapping up with Tommy heading to the emergency room, but let’s hope our little one turns out alright. Meanwhile, you’ll accompany mummy to her significant meeting.

Lately, the guest contributor on This Morning has been posting a succession of inspiring images, and just last month, she published a video showcasing her radiant beauty in a vibrant red lingerie ensemble.

She posed on a bed in her underwear and urged fans to love their bodies as she shared that she has come to embrace her belly rolls, comparing them to ancient statues of the Greek goddess Aphrodite.

Earlier in August, Ashley posted a collection of pictures that she initially hesitated to publish online as she wasn’t content with her appearance during those moments.

Although Ashley appeared lovely and cheerful in the pictures, she later admitted that she felt uncomfortable with some aspects of her appearance in those specific images.

She explained that she had problems with her large breasts, the side view of herself in the photos she shared on Instagram, or how fair-skinned she appeared in them.

Ashley posted a photo showing herself prior to being pregnant with her two kids, expressing disbelief that she didn’t appreciate her body back then.

I almost held back from posting this, as I’ve been striving for years to reframe my thoughts positively about myself and my body, rather than focusing on perceived flaws. I didn’t want anyone else to measure themselves against me, as everyone deserves the same respect and kindness when it comes to their own bodies.

However, it’s crucial to underscore that we tend to be excessively harsh towards ourselves, scrutinizing our flaws with an intensity we wouldn’t apply to others. It’s disheartening to observe this pattern, especially when I reflect on these photos filled with incredible moments in breathtaking locations. Instead of focusing solely on my physical appearance or features, I wish I could appreciate the memories and experiences these images represent more fully.

‘And often we look back and wonder why we didn’t like the photo. We think we look amazing.

I frequently ponder the psychological aspect behind this phenomenon, as I personally struggle with disliking any picture of myself intensely. It’s only around two weeks later that I find myself appreciating them. Can you explain why this happens?

‘Although I have to say I really struggling seeing photos of myself during the breastfeeding days. Not the cute ones of me feeding my babies, but just the size of my chest on me. I am sure it’s not secret how much I struggle with that from years and years of shame and comments that started when I was just 14.

“Did you know this? I’m really happy I decided to include myself in those photos, and I didn’t erase them even when I wasn’t pleased with the outcome. Now, they’ve become precious memories of my children growing up, of my own journey through adulthood, of life’s moments filled with warmth, love, and adventure.

Frequently, our recollections blur, and it seems like our children mature at an astounding pace. In the long run, what remains are just pictures and reminiscences.

Show kindness towards yourself, regardless of where you are in life’s journey. Recall to extend compassion to yourself when you don’t appreciate what you see, as our upbringing has conditioned us to focus on flaws, which often benefits others from capitalizing on our insecurities. Lastly, always remember to be in the pictures.
