Avengers: Endgame will be re-released, and Joe Russo has teased new footage.
Released in 2019, Endgame quickly became the highest-grossing movie ever, earning over $2.7 billion globally. It broke records by making $1.2 billion in its first five days. For fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the film was a memorable and emotional experience, bringing together beloved characters in a final stand against Thanos, and marking the end of their journey after more than ten years.
During an interview with Deadline at the Sands Film Festival in Scotland, Russo shared details about the re-release of Endgame and how it will connect to the next Marvel film, Avengers: Doomsday.
We absolutely need to release the movie again, and this time it will include extra footage connected to the Doomsday storyline we’ve added to Avengers: Endgame.
This is a rare chance to connect the stories of ‘Endgame’ and ‘Doomsday’ in a fresh and interesting way. Because ‘Endgame’ did so well, we can release the movie again. Re-releases aren’t always possible due to the cost, but this allows us to expand on the ‘Doomsday’ narrative with characters fans have known and loved for years, continuing their journey in a truly special way.
