A Different Man stars Sebastian Stan and Adam Pearson recall “chaotic” fight scene

As a fan who has been following Sebastian Stan and Adam Pearson‘s careers for quite some time now, I must say that their interview about filming the fight scene in “A Different Man” was nothing short of fascinating. The intensity and passion they put into their roles are truly commendable.

In their own words, Sebastian Stan and Adam Pearson from the movie “A Different Man” have reminisced about shooting the action-packed fight scene, describing it as a “tumultuous” series of events.

Currently showing in UK theaters is a unique blend of dark humor and suspense known as “The Transformation of Edward,” where the character Stan portrays an aspiring actor named Edward, who undergoes an extreme makeover through a revolutionary medical process that alters his facial features dramatically.

However, his fresh aspiration swiftly transforms into a dreadful reality when he misses out on the role he was destined for, leading him to become consumed by an unhealthy fixation on regaining what had been taken from him.

In a candid conversation with Digital Spy, the two stars shared insights about the movie’s action sequence and their apprehensions during its shooting.

As a fellow admirer of the art, let me tell you, during this intense fight sequence, we all hope no one ends up getting injured, including my character Oswald and yours, dear friend of Edward.

In the heat of the battle, when debris like the ceiling and lights came crashing down during the fight, Stan pointed out that it hadn’t been possible to practice this particular scenario beforehand because of the complexities involved in the logistics.

As a thrilled fan, I can say it was an unparalleled moment – something straight out of a movie – that marked its debut for the first time in history. Needless to say, it was an extraordinary experience, one that left us feeling incredibly fortunate to have witnessed it. To put it simply, it was an intricate and complex spectacle.

In such an intense, heartfelt moment, it’s crucial to capture it accurately. Interestingly, when the pressure mounts, it can unexpectedly aid in the process.

Even though there was some danger involved, Stan believed that this made the battle seem incredibly authentic, while Pearson noted that it also contributed to an unpredictable or chaotic atmosphere.

The Marvel actor noted that these characters are not seasoned combatants. Edward, specifically, has never engaged in a fight before, and it shows, as he shouldn’t appear to be an expert.

Pearson told Digital Spy how he was counting down to filming the fight scene – out of worry.

He mentioned, “This was the event I had noted down in my calendar.” His phone alarm reminded him of an appointment, which read: ‘Fight with Bucky today.’ To which he replied, ‘You’re going to meet your demise today, Pearson.’

In this situation, there were numerous components that needed attention. I had to ensure my actions were precise – positioning my hand correctly, executing the right moves, even leaping over a sofa. Add to that the coordination of lighting and cues for me to start crying… Goodness gracious! The scene was a whirlwind of activity.

The film titled “A Different Man” made its US debut about a month ago and has been receiving positive reviews from critics. It opened on the movie review platform Rotten Tomatoes with an impressive ‘Fresh’ score of 89%.

The film was released in the UK yesterday (October 4).

A Different Man is out now in UK cinemas.
