Gemma Collins convinced her great-great-grandfather was Jack the Ripper and plans to psychically contact his ghost as she admits she's ecstatic to be related to the infamous serial killer

As I delve into this captivating tale of Gemma Collins’ journey through her genealogy, I am struck by the poignant and intriguing twists that her life has taken. The parallels between the chilling mystery of Jack the Ripper and the emotional reunion with a long-lost family member serve as a stark reminder of the unpredictability of life’s pathways.

He was the infamous, unapprehended serial murderer from Britain, who killed five women and instilled fear throughout London during 1888.

However, Gemma Collins claims that she has identified who Jack the Ripper might be and strongly asserts they share a family connection.

Previously known from TOWIE, the 43-year-old individual is exploring their ancestry during the production of a future episode on BBC’s show “Who Are You Really?”.

She found out quickly that her family tree includes forebears who resided on Dorset Street in the Eastern part of London, a location notorious for being the scene where the murderer deposited some of his horribly disfigured victims.

In the chilling month of November, 1888, I stumbled upon a scene that still haunts my dreams – the lifeless body of Mary Jane Kelly, believed to be the last victim of the infamous Whitechapel fiend, in a humble abode on a bustling London street.

Gemma isn’t considering it a mere coincidence that her relatives resided on the same street. Instead, she strongly suspects that the infamous butcher was actually her great-great-grandfather, William Williams.

In conversation with The Daily Star, she clarified: “My great-great-grandfather was employed at a workhouse and perished there. I believe this might be the cause of the ongoing mystery surrounding Jack the Ripper… as he could have been the culprit.

The situation seems inevitable, given my track record. Unfortunate as it may seem, it turns out this individual is a family member of mine.

Gemma elaborated her hypothesis to BBC News, asserting, “The Ripper’s identity remains unknown, but we resided nearby where many of his victims met their demise. It’s always uncertain.

It seems possible that we might have been connected through family ties… Isn’t it peculiar? Could it be a connection within our families? Might he be implying a familial relationship?

Nevertheless, the idea of being connected to the ruthless murderer holds no concern for the celebrity from reality TV, as she openly expressed her excitement at the prospect and stated that it might shed light on aspects of her character.

She shared with the Star: “I’m overjoyed. I’ve always felt there was something more to myself and my family, and now it seems I was right. The strange aspect of it all – I find it absolutely amusing! Of course, the murders were tragic and I understand that sentiment. However…

‘But how could it be that my family were on the same street as Jack The Ripper’s victims? You just couldn’t make it up. You’ve got The GC and Jack The Ripper. I’m an unusual character and that’s definitely come from somewhere.’

Now, Gemma intends to connect with the spirit of the Ripper through a séance, utilizing her psychic abilities, in an attempt to gather additional information.

The murderous spree attributed to Jack the Ripper unfolded from August 31st to November 9th, 1888, resulting in the gruesome deaths of five women who were all viciously attacked.

Five women, who were all engaged in the profession of prostitution, each suffered a similar grisly fate: Their throats were brutally cut, and in three instances, their internal organs were also taken. The women were Mary Ann Nichols, Annie Chapman, Elizabeth Stride, Catherine Eddowes, and Mary Jane Kelly.

A woman provided police with half a kidney and a set of written messages, all bearing the signature of the Ripper.

However, there were errors in the preliminary investigations of the murders, as it was impossible to discern the distinction between human and animal blood through fingerprint analysis, not to mention identifying individuals.

In other words, we’ll never know who Jack the Ripper truly was, as this mystery remains one of the enduring unsolved mysteries around the globe.

Numerous hypotheses exist about the true identity of the notorious serial killer, ranging from Sir John Williams, Queen Victoria’s personal surgeon, who performed a surgery in Whitechapel during that timeframe, to Prince Albert Victor, Queen Victoria’s grandson, who was admitted to an asylum and passed away in 1892.

In Gemma’s installment of Who Do You Think You Are?, she gets a chance to reconnect with her mother’s long-lost cousin, Christine, whom the family had been out of contact with for some time.

She found it hard to believe that Christine resided just 20 minutes from their home. She further remarked, “It’s quite astonishing to think about the impact this revelation must have had on them when they were informed, ‘You are kin to the GC’.

Additionally, she discovered more details about her biological grandparents since her mother Joan was raised by foster parents during her childhood.

Scholars found out that it’s unlikely Joan was abandoned by her mother, instead, her mother might have been forcibly taken away by the authorities.

Gemma found it a mix of joy and sadness to uncover the facts, yet it was deeply relieving for her mother to finally find the answers she had long sought after.
