As a dedicated follower, I deeply empathize with Jett Kenny and his heart-wrenching journey through grief following the loss of his sister Jaimi. The emotional scenes from ‘The Amazing Race’ serve as a poignant reminder of the resilience and strength that can be found in the face of adversity, yet also highlight the indelible impact of such tragic events on one’s life.

On the Amazing Race, a visibly distraught Jett Kenny was overcome with emotion while reminiscing about his sister Jaimi, who tragically passed away due to anorexia at just 33 years old.

Jett, 30, and his partner Lily Brown, 26, were eliminated from the reality show on Monday night.

During the production, it was disclosed that Jett had Jaimi by his side throughout the entire shoot, and they carried some of Jaimi’s ashes with them, which they later scattered in various beautiful locations worldwide.

Jett and Lilly found it hard to hide their feelings as host Beau Ryan announced that they were out of the competition.

In a heartfelt moment, Jett shared that his sister had fought against an eating disorder for nearly 18 years. Medical professionals had warned her that she might not reach her 30th birthday, but remarkably, she persevered and lived until her 33rd year.

The emotion of the situation proved too much for Jett who broke down in tears as he continued.

‘It means a lot to us to try and do our best for that,’ Jett said wiping tears from his eyes.

Jett suggested that discussing this topic increases understanding, which might provide comfort to others facing similar situations.

Stepping in to help, Lily spoke up, saying “let’s give them a try,” as Jett dabbed at his eyes once more and expressed regret to Beau.

‘It’s all good, mate,’ Beau replied. ‘It is so okay, mate.’

In September 2020, a tragic event occurred in Jett’s life as Jaimi, who was just 33 years old, passed away following struggles with alcoholism and an eating disorder.

In contrast to his open-discussing mother Lisa about her mental health on social platforms, Jett typically prefers to maintain a private stance regarding his own struggles.

In simpler terms, the SAS Australia star once shared with The Daily Telegraph that they handle grief differently than their mother does. As a parent, it’s an experience nobody wishes to encounter.

Jett, son of Ironman Grant Kenny, expressed that he deals with his grief by viewing his unfortunate event as a normal aspect of life, and repeatedly acknowledging that such incidents occasionally occur.

He mentioned that there are moments when certain days can be more challenging than others, particularly close to birthday celebrations, Easter, and Christmas.

I wanted to share some poignant news that has touched my heart deeply. On September 15, 2020, I mourn the loss of a dear family member, Jaimi, who left us peacefully the day prior. I felt it was important to express this on social media and honor her memory in the way she lived – openly and honestly.

In 2021, Jett revealed his sister’s heartbreaking final moments to the Courier Mail.

He shared that he’d concluded his duty as a lifeguard when Lisa called, asking him to ring her once he returned home.

‘I could tell something was wrong,’ he told the publication.

In my thoughts, I secretly wished that if this turned out to be a family matter, let it be involving Jaimi and not Morgan, Flynn, or any other member. I felt our family has already been through enough, so I was hoping we wouldn’t have to face more troubles in the same manner.

He added: ‘We ended up all at the hospital and that was the last time I saw her.  She fought all the way until the end.

For approximately eight hours, they removed life support from her. In those hours, she held on, showing remarkable resilience. Doctors anticipated her passing within a minute or two, but she proved them wrong.
