Both Prince Harry and Prince William were in attendance at uncle’s funeral in Norfolk

As a long-time follower of the British royal family, I must say that the recent turn of events has left me both saddened and intrigued. The passing of Lord Robert Fellowes and the subsequent funeral have been a poignant reminder of the human side of these public figures we so often view as untouchable.

On July 29, Lord Robert Fellowes, a former secretary to Queen Elizabeth II, died at the age of 82. A funeral service took place for him on August 28, marking the end of a life spent in the service of the British court.

As reported by Page Six, both Prince Harry and Prince William were present at the funeral. However, it appears they did not engage in any interaction during the event. Given that Lord Robert Fellowes is their uncle – he being the brother-in-law of Princess Diana and also the first cousin of Sarah Ferguson – it’s understandable that family ties compelled them to set aside any personal disagreements to bid their farewells.

Accounts from those present at the funeral suggest that both princes individually and inconspicuously arrived without drawing attention, preferring a low-key entrance. Additionally, it’s worth noting that they did not engage in any conversation during the event. In fact, it seems they intentionally maintained a distance from each other, as might be expected given the state of their relationship.

Notably, it was mentioned by a source that “he went for personal reasons; he arrived and departed.” This aligns perfectly with the fact that he is no longer an active royal and attended the funeral not as a representative of the royal family, but as a mourning nephew.

Although no photos of the two brothers attending their uncle’s funeral appear to exist, and we don’t anticipate there being any, it appears this was their first reunion since their grandmother’s funeral. Given their strained relationship at present, it’s understandable that they wouldn’t have been conversing during such a solemn occasion.
