Ekin-Su Culculoglu admits she was 'fake' on Celebrity Big Brother and feared she was 'cancelled' after receiving 'intense' backlash

As I delve into the fascinating life of Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, a woman who has navigated the tumultuous waters of reality television with grace and resilience, I am struck by her indomitable spirit and remarkable journey. From her stint on Love Island UK to her appearances on Dancing On Ice and The Traitors US, Ekin-Su has proven time and again that she is a force to be reckoned with.

Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu has confessed that she believed her popularity had ended when she was seen as insincere during her time on Celebrity Big Brother earlier in the year.

29-year-old Love Island champion disclosed that she’s been undergoing therapy for a while now since her stint on the ITV program.

Following a fortnight indoors, Ekin-Su was the fourth contestant eliminated, as fellow housemates claimed she appeared insincere and seemed to act out a character.

She left to jeers and boos, and was so upset by the reaction that she didn’t attend the final.

In an interview with Fabulous magazine, the influencer shared that she informed her loved ones she had been “cut off” or “de-platformed”, and subsequent to her public appearance, she faced multiple threatening messages that could be interpreted as life-threatening.

She said: ‘I felt like my career was over. I was getting death threats. I told my family I had been cancelled, packed a bag and left the country.’

Instead of pointing fingers at others, Ekin-Su admitted she’s currently undergoing therapy. She regrets her choice to enter the house after separating from her ex-boyfriend and fellow contestant Davide Sanclimenti, who is 29 years old.

As a lifestyle connoisseur, I must share the tale of Ekin-Su and Davide, who claimed victory in Love Island 2022. Their journey continued beyond the island, embarking on an 18-month romance that even included a spin-off reality show. However, their relationship wasn’t without its turbulence. The Italian heartthrob found himself embroiled in allegations of infidelity when rumors swirled about him and an OnlyFans model.

In the Big Brother house, the reality star acknowledged that she would get defensive when discussions about her ex ‘Davide’, Love Island, or her OnlyFans account arose among her fellow housemates.

She added: “I acknowledge that my choice to enter was a mistake, and I own up to it. While Celebrity Big Brother had a negative impact on me, I understand I should have prepared more thoroughly for the experience. I underestimated its intensity.”

1. “I showed up exhausted from jet lag and sleep-deprived, not exactly in top form mentally. To be frank, I wasn’t acting like myself. I didn’t discuss Davide cheating on me with anyone – instead, I misled everyone about my emotional state. The truth was, people could see right through me that I wasn’t being sincere. They were correct in thinking I was insincere.”

Ekin-Su made it clear that she has no problem with OnlyFans, but the discussion struck a sensitive spot for her since she found herself in a vulnerable position when the subject came up.

Talking about her eviction, the beauty expressed that she was taken aback when they announced her name and felt uneasy when the studio audience jeered as she left the house.

Following the performance, Ekin-Su made an appearance on Big Brother: Late And Live, where she was questioned by celebrity panelist Layton Williams who commented, “Don’t use editing as a scapegoat. We see what actually happens,” and Will Best referred to her as ‘Ekin Cries-a-lot’.

More than 130 people complained to Ofcom about her treatment on the spin-off show.

Ekin-Su expressed that she felt let down by Layton, as she had admired him previously. In her opinion, there was no reason for him to act against her.

The television celebrity, known for her stints on shows like Dancing On Ice and The Traitors US, confided in a media outlet that she harbors regrets over joining Big Brother and wishes she hadn’t agreed to participate.

She stated: ‘I aimed to demonstrate my abilities independently of my ex, but it turned out differently. My self-esteem is deeply tied to my work and the approval of others, so when the public disliked me, I felt the same way. Without their praise, I felt worthless, and that’s when I understood that I needed to change. I must learn to offer myself the love I seek from others.’

Ekin-Su and Davide parted ways in June 2023 after a year together, only to reconcile soon afterwards. However, their relationship came to an end permanently in January 2024 due to accusations of infidelity against him.

Regarding their breakup, Ekin-Si confessed that their bond was ‘harmful and unhealthy’, expressing relief that it has come to an end and wishing she could have parted ways sooner.

Currently, Ekin-Su Caglar is relishing her time as a single woman and is preparing for a trip to the United States, where she’ll have the opportunity to mingle with the glitz and glamour of Hollywood. The TV show “The Traitors US” that she’s involved in has been nominated for four Emmy Awards.

In the heart-stopping episode titled “The Funeral,” I found myself utterly captivated by none other than Ekin-Su, as she became the center of the most buzzed-about scene – a chilling moment where she was “buried alive.”

The show’s episode was nominated for the exceptional cinematography award in a reality program category, and Ekin-Su is likely to join the event, taking place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles this coming September. There’s a chance she might receive the accolade together with her colleagues.
