The blood of the dragon is headed to the big screen.
I’m so excited to hear that a “Game of Thrones” movie is actually happening at Warner Bros.! Apparently, Beau Willimon, who did amazing work on “House of Cards” and “Andor,” is writing the script. Page Six reported that he’s already finished a first draft, which is incredible news for fans like me!
Although the exact storyline is still unconfirmed, the upcoming film will likely focus on Aegon the Conqueror, the first Targaryen king to rule from the Iron Throne in George R.R. Martin’s “A Song of Ice and Fire” universe. HBO is also reportedly working on a potential TV series detailing Aegon’s conquest of Westeros, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Ira Parker, the showrunner for ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,’ talks about the season finale, plans to adapt ‘Dunk and Egg,’ his collaboration with George R.R. Martin, and what viewers can anticipate in Season 2.
Aegon I Targaryen was the first king of Westeros and the founder of the Targaryen dynasty. About 300 years before the story of “Game of Thrones,” he and his sister-wives, Visenya and Rhaenys, conquered six out of the seven kingdoms, uniting them under his rule.
Aegon the Conqueror is so highly respected that many characters in the “Game of Thrones” universe are named after him. King Aegon II, whose claim to the throne started a brutal civil war called the Dance of Dragons, is a central figure in the prequel series “House of the Dragon” (played by Tom Glynn-Carney). In the series “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms,” young Egg (Dexter Sol Ansell) is discovered to be the lost prince Aegon Targaryen. And in the original “Game of Thrones” series, the popular character Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) was ultimately revealed to be a Targaryen named Aegon.
Besides the already announced “A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight,” HBO is also developing an animated series focusing on Corlys Velaryon, a popular character from “House of the Dragon” often called the Sea Snake.
The third season of “House of the Dragon” will premiere in June.
