John Cena’s new movie is now available to watch on Prime Video

As a fan who’s grown up watching wrestling matches and movies alike, I must say that John Cena has truly outdone himself with his latest action-comedy, “Jackpot!”. This man just keeps delivering, and it’s like watching a modern-day Jackie Chan in the making.

In the action-comedy film “Jackpot!”, currently streaming on Prime Video, John Cena portrays a protective and compassionate bodyguard.

In the latest film directed by Paul Feig, known for hits like “Bridesmaids” and “The Heat”, a former wrestler who now acts takes center stage alongside the talented Awkwafina from “Crazy Rich Asians” and Simu Liu, who starred as Barbie’s co-star.

In this tale, the backdrop is a bleak, dystopian Los Angeles where, on one specific day known as the ‘Grand Lottery’, taking a life becomes legal. The person who commits the deed on this day instantly inherits the slain victim’s fortune, which amounts to a multibillion-dollar windfall.

Meet Katie Kim, formerly residing elsewhere, now settling in Hollywood following her mother’s demise, with dreams of stardom as an actor igniting her journey.

Eventually, Katie’s dream comes true due to her well-recognized visage in town, unfortunately for reasons that are less than flattering. It turns out she has won the lottery, leading an enraged mob to pursue her with intent to kill and claim her winnings.

Fortunately for her, untrained lottery security representative Noel Cassidy (Cena) steps in to help, and swiftly agrees to take 10% of the winnings as payment for his assistance.

Katie and Noel are set to encounter formidable adversaries. These include Louis Lewis, a competitor in their field, as well as Ayden Mayeri, the host of Katie’s Airbnb.

In the hit movie “Barbie,” directed by Greta Gerwig, both Cena and Liu played distinct characters representing Ken on screen.

Liu is also teaming up with Awkwafina again, who he acted alongside in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings.” Both are scheduled to reprise their roles for a sequel, although fans have expressed concern due to the absence of updates since the initial movie’s release three years ago. However, Liu reassured fans last April that the project is moving forward.

Hooray! After “Argylle,” currently streaming on Apple TV+, and “Ricky Stanicky” available on Prime Video, here’s another action comedy for you – it’s John Cena’s third this year titled “Jackpot.”

As I sat down for a chat with ScreenRant, I shared some behind-the-scenes insights into my collaboration with stunt choreographers. I talked about how I tailored my unique physical abilities to fit the high-octane action sequences we were creating together.

He said that many aspects of this situation were within his area of expertise, making it easy for him to get involved. This was wonderful for him since it allowed him to contribute significantly.

Absolutely, I must give credit to our stunt crew for attempting to narrate that action-comedy tale just as Jackie Chan does. Jackie Chan is undoubtedly the most physical storyteller of our time, and it was an enjoyable experience to try to mimic his style, even if only briefly.
