The initial trailer for Michael B. Jordan’s remake of The Thomas Crown Affair is now available. In this suspenseful heist film, the Academy Award-winning actor stars as the wealthy Thomas Crown, who engages in a thrilling game of cat and mouse after stealing a valuable painting.
The film opens with a glimpse of Michael B. Jordan as Crown, dressed in a tuxedo, remembering the thrill of stealing a painting and hinting at the exciting action to come.
I’m really excited about the new remake! It’s based on the original 1968 film with Steve McQueen and Faye Dunaway, which is a classic. Interestingly, they actually already remade it once before, back in 1999, starring Pierce Brosnan and Rene Russo. So this is like a remake of a remake!
Jordan is directing this incarnation, which also features Andor‘s Adria Arjona, Oppenheimer‘s Kenneth Branagh, Killers of the Flower Moon‘s Lily Gladstone, The Walking Dead‘s Danai Gurira, Game of Thrones‘s Pilou Asbæk, and Line of Duty‘s Aiysha Hart.
Amazon MGM is making a new version of The Thomas Crown Affair, and they say it will be a beautiful and surprisingly emotional film. Good news for movie fans: it will be released in theaters before becoming available for streaming.

This trailer comes off the back of a stellar year for Jordan, who won the Best Actor Oscar earlier in 2026 for his dual performance in Sinners. In his moving speech, the star paid tribute to revered Black actors, saying: “I stand here because of the people that came before me: Sidney Poitier, Denzel Washington, Halle Berry, Jamie Foxx, Forest Whitaker, Will Smith.”
Jordan added: “To be amongst those giants, amongst those great greats, amongst my ancestors, amongst my guys. Thank you [to] everybody in this room and everybody at home for supporting me over my career. I feel it. I know you guys want me to do well, and I want to do that because you guys bet on me.
“Keep betting on me, and I’m going to keep stepping up, and I’m going to keep being the best version of me I can be.”
In addition to The Thomas Crown Affair, Michael Jordan is also set to star in a film remake of the television series Miami Vice, tentatively titled Miami Vice ’85.
The Thomas Crown Affair will be released in cinemas on 5 March 2027.
