Ms. Lauryn Hill and the Fugees cancel 2024 U.S. tour

Titled “The Celebration Continues: The Miseducation Anniversary Tour,” this concert series was intended to showcase Lauryn Hill alongside her Fugees bandmates, Wyclef Jean and Pras Michel, performing tracks from their seven-times platinum 1996 album “The Score” as well as songs from Hill’s Grammy-winning solo debut “The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill.” The tour was set to commence on Friday in Tampa, Florida, with stops extending through mid-September, including a September 17th show at the Hollywood Bowl where Hill had previously held a 20th anniversary tour for “Miseducation” in 2018. However, it has been reported that this tour has been cancelled, although dates scheduled in Europe for October and November remain active on Ticketmaster’s site as of now. After being apart for 15 years, the Fugees, famous for pushing the boundaries of melody and live instrumentation in hip-hop through hits like “Ready or Not” and their cover of Roberta Flack’s “Killing Me Softly With His Song,” announced a reunion tour in 2021. However, they played just one show before halting the tour due to complications related to the pandemic. The Fugees with Hill resumed touring towards the end of 2023, but were forced to withdraw from several concerts again, with Hill attributing it to a severe vocal injury.
