Since its debut in 2025, The Pitt has been a hit with both critics and audiences. Now available in the UK through HBO Max, the medical drama has reached a significant milestone for the streaming service.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the show surpassed one billion minutes of viewing time during the week of March 30th to April 5th. This period included the US release of the season two finale, episode 13, titled ‘7:00 P.M.’
The show has now been streamed for over a billion minutes each week for the past eight weeks, and eleven times total since the second season began on HBO Max (US) on January 8th.

Created by R Scott Gemmill, the series centers on the doctors and staff working in the busy emergency room of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center. It stars Noah Wyle, Patrick Ball, and Katherine LaNasa.
Critics have consistently praised The Pitt since it first came out. Currently, 96% of reviews on Rotten Tomatoes are positive. The first season earned a 94% rating, and the second season is even higher at 98%.

In a review for Digital Spy, we noted that the series was ‘worth the wait’ for UK audiences, praising its ability to build a strong connection between viewers and the characters.
Honestly, the way the actors played off each other was amazing. It wasn’t just surface-level stuff; you could feel the relationships shifting and changing depending on who was talking and what was happening. It felt really natural and dynamic, like a real group of people, which totally pulled me into the game.
Ultimately, the show excels at portraying a realistic and diverse world. It does this by including characters with a wide range of backgrounds, abilities, and neurotypes, which allows for many different life experiences to be represented.

Fans are loving the current season, and Gemmill, who is also in charge of the show, has given a sneak peek at what’s coming in the next season.
They explained they’re planning to conduct the exercise in November, a colder month, to simulate a wider range of emergency scenarios typical of that time of year and ensure they’re prepared for anything.
The Pitt is streaming on HBO Max and NOW.
