As a hardcore horror fan with years of experience under my belt, I can’t help but get excited about the latest developments in the world of terrifying tales. And this year has been nothing short of a rollercoaster ride for us horror enthusiasts!
During this year’s San Diego Comic Con, attendees were taken aback when actor Johnny from “In a Violent Nature” unexpectedly showed up at the “The Bold Voice of Contemporary Horror” discussion. Known for his terrifying portrayal of a killer wielding a metal hook as his preferred tool, Johnny was the standout performer in IFC Films and Shudder’s found-footage horror production, which predominantly captures the events from the perspective of the murderer.
Johnny was created as a tribute to the classic horror slasher characters, specifically referencing Jason Voorhees from the “Friday the 13th” series. According to Variety’s report, Johnny is set to make a comeback in “In a Violent Nature 2.” Chris Nash, who penned and helmed the initial film, will once again be responsible for the script.
According to Variety, Scott Shooman, the leader of AMC Networks’ film unit, announced through a statement that the upcoming Johnny sequel intends to make him even more menacing and amplify the impact of his killings.
In the initial movie, a shocking and grotesque moment stood out: Johnny brutally assaulted a woman practicing yoga, employing his hooks for an uncanny, almost indescribable murder. Witnessing it would leave you speechless. I’m curious to discover more imaginative ways of killing in this series that might even surpass the infamous creations from the Terrifier films.
As a long-time horror enthusiast and someone who has followed the genre closely for decades, I can confidently say that this year has been absolutely exhilarating for original horror stories. I still remember the thrill of watching “In a Violent Nature” in the theater back in May. The film’s chilling premise and masterful execution left me on the edge of my seat, and it went on to become one of IFC Films’ highest-grossing releases ever.
In addition to the announcement about a new installment of “In a Violent Nature, we’ve been given a sneak peek at a teaser poster and word that the initial movie will debut on Shudder this coming Friday, September 13 for streaming. “
After being captivated by the first installment, don’t miss out on the next chapter: IN A VIOLENT NATURE 2, coming soon from IFCfilms and Shudder.
