At long last, the elusive 2022 South America ALGS Split 1 Playoffs Trophy has made an appearance. In stark contrast to Team Singularity’s counterparts in EMEA, North America, and both APAC Regions, this trophy failed to reach its rightful owners following their hard-earned victory.

In early 2022, due to the outbreak of the Omicron Variant, the scheduled in-person ALGS (Apex Legends Global Series) Regional Finals for South America were forced to be held online instead. Prior to this, South America had been an essential region for ALGS and they conducted their playoffs event separately.

As a gamer who’s recently won the 2022 South America ALGS Split 2 Trophy, I’ve found myself in a unique situation. I now have the opportunity to sell this trophy back to the winning team. It’s an interesting twist of events, and I’m considering my options carefully before making a decision.

Trophy owner wants money to return it

In a recently uploaded video, the present trophy holder, identified as Besk9, tagged his team member, mentioned that he had bought a large number of sealed packages from federal law enforcement in a transaction. He expressed his intentions to return the trophy to their team, but emphasized that his role was to generate income from such purchases.

On Reddit, user Besk9 shares that the package they were expecting didn’t make it through Customs due to insufficient information included with it.

To obtain the trophy for Team Singularity, there will be a need for monetary exchange. However, if the buyer decides to back out, this may not happen.

As a gamer, I was taken aback when I learned that the buyer intends to pay a considerable amount for the trophy. He’s asserting that it’s made of 24-carat gold. However, fellow ALGS Split 1 Playoff winner in EMEA Region, K4SHERA, shared a video of his own award. He clarified that if it were truly gold and silver, he would have already melted it down for the weight alone, implying financial gain.
