Call the Midwife shares cast photo in season 14 update

As a dedicated fan and avid viewer of Call the Midwife, I am absolutely thrilled to see that production for the 14th series has begun! The recent Instagram post from the show’s official account, featuring a behind-the-scenes photo of the cast gathered around the dining room table at Nonnatus House, is a delightful treat for us fans.

Call the Midwife has shared a cast photo as work on the 14th series has got underway.

Later this year, the BBC program is coming back on air with a Christmas episode prior to its 14th season starting in January. An announcement about this was recently shared on the show’s Instagram account.

As a gamer, I’d say, “Why not demonstrate our advancements right here in the Nonnatus House dining room? It might come as a surprise, but this central location is where much of our story unfolds. Isn’t it the birthing room or the darkest corners of Poplar that fuel the action?”

“Yes, those places hold significance. However, there’s a particular spot in each episode where our characters gather and discuss their feelings and make sense of past events as a group.”

Director Syd Macartney also features in the photograph, giving guidance to the ensemble cast.

Title’s summary: In our type of group storyline, all characters carry significance – silence included. This episode, as shown in the picture, offers plenty for our Nonnatuns to discuss. The Midwife saga comes back with a fresh Christmas Special and series 14 in 2025.

Last month, the production released a statement comparable to the previous one, indicating that they had started working on the 14th series right after wrapping up the shooting for the 2024 Christmas special.

Call the Midwife airs on BBC One and streams on BBC iPlayer.
