10 Most Powerful Villains In Invincible Season 4, Ranked

The animated series Invincible is known for its compelling villains, and the newest episodes are raising the stakes even higher. The show’s format guarantees a new enemy for Mark and the Guardians in almost every episode, while also revisiting familiar faces from previous seasons. While the powerful Viltrumites have been the main villains so far, this latest installment is introducing more variety to the show’s antagonists.

Season 4 of Invincible focuses on Mark’s development as both a person and a hero, but it also introduces incredibly formidable villains. Though not every antagonist matches the heroes in power, most are strong enough to challenge even Invincible’s most powerful characters. The season features truly memorable villains, ranging from the overwhelmingly powerful Thragg to the cruel and sadistic Conquest.

Universa

Universa Is A Methodical Villain

The animated series Invincible has followed the story of aliens visiting Earth for four seasons, usually with the goal of taking over the planet or finding something they need to save their own. The fourth season begins by introducing a new and incredibly powerful villain named Universa.

Universa is the very definition of a relentless character. She’s incredibly focused and disciplined, sometimes to an extreme, and she’s willing to be cruel to gain the power needed to save her home planet, which is failing. With her Staff of Leadership, she can both absorb energy and find it wherever it exists. While her methods are questionable, Universa isn’t motivated by a simple desire for power, which makes her a fascinating and complicated villain.

Dinosaurus

Dinosaurus Combines Intelligence With Strength

Dinosaurus initially appears to be a destructive monster, but he’s actually much more complex. He’s the other identity of the gifted scientist, David Anders, and his incredible power comes from a combination of immense strength and a brilliant mind.

Like many villains, Dinosaurus thinks the ends justify the means – he believes any action is acceptable if it serves a greater purpose, even if it means causing destruction. He sees himself as a savior, despite the damage he inflicts while pursuing his goals. Even though Mark won their fight, Dinosaurus proved to be a formidable opponent, showcasing incredible agility, speed, and fighting ability.

Sequids

The Sequid’s Hive Mind Mentality Is Terrifying

The Sequids are among the most frightening and dangerous alien threats in Invincible. What makes them so terrifying isn’t individual power, but rather their ability to act as a single, controlling hive mind that can take over whole groups of people. When a Sequid attaches to someone, it completely controls their body by overriding their nervous system.

As a big fan of the series, I’ve always found the Sequids fascinating – and terrifying! One on its own isn’t a huge deal, but when you get a lot of them, they can spread like wildfire and completely take over entire civilizations, cities, and even whole planets. What’s interesting is that even though they’re parasites, they actually need to physically attach to someone to really control them. Some species, like the Viltrumites, are basically immune because their skin is so tough – the Sequids just can’t get a grip and take over their brains!

Volcanikka

Volcanikka Proves That Non-Viltrumites Are Also Powerful

In the comic book and animated series Invincible, Volcanikka proves that not all of the powerful villains come from the Viltrum planet. As a major antagonist in season 4, she took over Hell from Satan, planning to unleash dangerous creatures called the Viles to dominate the Under Realm and ultimately conquer the Earth.

I’m really fascinated by Volcanikka! She’s already incredibly strong as a lava elemental, but the way she creates these Magmanites to fight for her is just terrifying – it gives her a huge advantage. Honestly, watching season 4 of Invincible, I’m still trying to figure out why she’s doing all this. Is she just evil for the sake of being evil, or is there something deeper driving her destruction? It’s a total mystery!

Flaxans

The Flaxans Technological Advancements Contribute To Why They Are Difficult To Defeat

In the comic Invincible, the Flaxans are an alien race that travels between dimensions. They invade Earth by opening portals to our world. Given how often alien invasions happen in Invincible, the Flaxans simply seem like another enemy intent on taking over the planet.

The Flaxans aren’t typical villains. Time flows much slower on their planet – months on Earth can equal centuries for them. This means whenever an invasion fails, they return home with plenty of time to prepare and return with improved technology.

Mister Liu

Mister Liu Is A Formidable Adversary

While not as powerful as enemies like the Viltrumites, Mister Liu is definitely one of the most dangerous criminals in the Invincible universe. He’s consistently shown to be a tough opponent, even for someone as strong as Mark. Once the leader of The Order, he can turn into a massive dragon and is known for being both incredibly ruthless and clever.

As a huge fan of Invincible, I was thrilled to see Mister Liu survive that brutal attack by Titan in season four! It was a relief, even though he wasn’t fully recovered – he couldn’t immediately step back into leading The Order. But honestly, even weakened, the old master is incredibly powerful. He proved that when he went up against both Oliver and Mark, holding his own in a fight against them both!

Lucan

Lucan Represents True Viltrumite Strength

Lucan debuted in season 2 of Invincible and perfectly showcases the raw power of the Viltrumites. While he hasn’t been as prominently featured as some other villains, his screen time has already demonstrated that he’s a precise and controlled fighter.

As a big fan of Invincible, I’ve always seen Lucan as a soldier through and through. He’s not just strong, but incredibly disciplined – he takes orders and executes them flawlessly. Honestly, for most of season 4, the show really held back on showing just how powerful he is, saving it for episode seven. He really embodies what you’d expect from a Viltrumite, and the fact that he made it through the purge and that deadly virus? That proves he’s one of the strongest of them all.

Kregg

Kregg’s Calmness Hides A Darker Side

Kregg is a key figure among the Viltrumites in Invincible, second only to the leader. Though not as showy as villains like Conquest, he’s incredibly feared due to his complex nature. What makes Kregg truly frightening isn’t malice or personal ambition, but the fact that he’s simply a soldier who carries out orders without question.

What sets Kregg apart as a compelling villain in Invincible is his restraint – he doesn’t feel the need to constantly demonstrate his strength. His power comes across through his authority, experience, and calm presence. Throughout most of the series, General Kregg only fights when absolutely necessary, highlighting the immense respect he commands as a veteran fighter.

Conquest

Conquest’s Sadistic Nature Makes Him Dangerous

The Viltrumites started taking over other planets because they believed they were naturally better than other races and had a responsibility to rule. While most Viltrumites didn’t necessarily like the violence involved, they saw it as an inherent part of their nature. However, Viltrumite soldiers are different – they actively enjoy fighting and killing.

Conquest is among the most powerful Viltrumites in Invincible, and a truly formidable character overall. He’s a tough opponent for anyone, and usually wins his fights. While Mark and Eve finally defeated him in season 3 of Invincible, they weren’t able to completely destroy him.

Thragg

Thragg’s Power Is Unmatched

Thragg, the ruler of the Viltrumite Empire, is currently the most powerful enemy in the Invincible story. As the leader of this intimidating race, he completely believes in Viltrumite power. He’s a brilliant strategist, and his willingness to do whatever it takes – without any emotional or moral limits – makes him incredibly dangerous.

Season 4 of Invincible hinted that Thragg would be the main villain for Mark to face. While we haven’t seen Thragg at his full power yet, even a glimpse of his abilities during the fight with the Coalition of Planets shows how incredibly strong he is. Despite the heroes’ best efforts, they couldn’t even harm him.
