Zoe Saldaña thinks she could have done “better” as Gamora

As a dedicated fan who’s spent countless hours marveling at the cosmic spectacle that is the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), I wholeheartedly empathize with Zoe Saldaña’s sentiments about her portrayal of Gamora. Her honesty and desire to improve are admirable, as they reflect the artist’s relentless pursuit of perfection.

Zoe Saldaña has shared her thoughts on playing Gamora, expressing that she believes she might have given a more exceptional performance.

Saldaña is renowned for portraying the cold-blooded assassin in James Gunn’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” series, and she appeared as this character in both “Avengers: Infinity War” and “Avengers: Endgame.

Regarding her renowned role, the actor herself expressed a desire to redo certain aspects if given another chance.

She shared with Variety that if given a chance, she would strive to improve her performances for Gamora and Uhura in Star Trek. She feels she could have given more, it’s just her nature.

In simpler terms, Saldaña expressed her desire to re-film the experiences of the Gamora character in the “Avengers” films as she feels she didn’t fully grasp the Russo Brothers’ complete vision for the character.

She went on to say: “These filmmakers are truly exceptional, and the chance they offered me was unparalleled. The fact that I got to portray Gamora so vividly in their movies will always remain something I’m incredibly thankful for.

I often find myself wishing I could revisit the past and approach that role with more intensity, as playing a troubled daughter with a complicated father was an exceptional chance. Regardless of whether I could’ve used that time to reconcile, heal, repair relationships, or choose to walk away, it would have been a valuable learning experience if I had recognized its significance earlier.

Previously this year, Saldaña expressed that it would be a significant setback for Marvel if they failed to revive the Guardians of the Galaxy in some form, even though it appeared their tale had concluded with the third Guardians film released last year.

She said, “In my opinion, it seems like she won’t be coming back to me any more, but I believe Gamora hasn’t disappeared forever.
