There seems to be progress toward Star Trek 4 in the Kelvin Timeline, as Zoe Saldana (Lt. Uhura) has agreed to appear in the film. However, it’s important to note that none of the actors have received a script so far. In her own words, Saldana hasn’t seen one yet.

It remains uncertain what’s causing the delay in Star Trek 4 production, given the numerous elements involved, it can be challenging to stay updated. However, it’s worth considering whether the filmmakers might be facing financial constraints or time limitations that are hindering the progress of the sequel. However, the salaries for actors like Chris Pine and Karl Urban could exceed what Paramount+ is willing or able to pay.
