Zendaya has confirmed whether Euphoria is really ending.
As Euphoria prepares to return after a four-year break, the lead actor has discussed whether season 3 will be the show’s last. The new season will follow the characters as they transition into adulthood, while still grappling with issues from their past.
Zendaya recently discussed the future of Euphoria during an appearance on The Drew Barrymore Show, as reported by Variety. When Drew Barrymore asked if season 3 would be the show’s last, Zendaya responded twice, both times indicating it likely would be. She simply said, “I think so, yeah,” and then, when asked again, “Yes, I think so.”
It appears Zendaya feels fairly certain this will be the last season of the show. Although nothing is confirmed, she added that “closure is coming,” suggesting the remaining episodes are being filmed as if they’re the series finale.
Currently, many signs suggest that season 3 of Euphoria will conclude the show’s story. While HBO hasn’t officially confirmed it’s the final season, the characters have all aged out of high school, strongly indicating this will be the case.
One of the coolest things about revisiting this show is seeing where everyone ended up! It really launched the careers of stars like Zendaya and Sydney Sweeney. Since the series wrapped, both have become huge names – Zendaya’s been amazing in the Spider-Man films alongside Tom Holland, and Sydney’s been killing it in movies like The Housemaid and Anyone But You. It’s fun to see how far they’ve come!
The third season of Euphoria has faced significant delays. Production was initially halted by the 2023 Hollywood strikes, as actors and writers protested for better pay and protections regarding the use of artificial intelligence. Adding to the challenges, the show’s creator, Sam Levinson, was also working on The Idol, which experienced a difficult production and received negative reviews.
Season 3 filming started in February 2025 and wrapped up in November 2025. The trailer suggests the new season will continue existing storylines, with Zendaya’s character, Rue, focusing on her sobriety and Cassie, played by Sydney Sweeney, exploring new avenues for income, including starting an OnlyFans account.
Zendaya recently hinted that the series might be ending, though there hasn’t been an official announcement about season 3 being the last. With the characters now finished with high school and pursuing their own lives, the show feels like it’s reaching a natural conclusion. It’s unclear how these changes will affect the relationships between the characters.
I’m really excited for season three because it feels like a whole new beginning for all the characters, and I’m sure it’ll be full of surprising and captivating stories. But honestly, it’s also a little comforting knowing that if this is the end, at least we’ll get a proper conclusion for everyone’s journey. It would be a definitive ending, which is better than leaving things unresolved.
