As a huge movie fan, I’m really excited about Guy Ritchie’s Young Sherlock coming to Prime Video on March 4th! They just dropped another trailer, and Hero Fiennes Tiffin looks fantastic as a young, slightly rebellious detective. It’s cool that his uncle, Joseph Fiennes, is playing Silas Holmes! The cast is amazing overall – Natascha McElhone, Colin Firth, Max Irons, Zine Tseng, and even Dónal Finn as Moriarty. Honestly, based on the trailer, it feels like exactly the kind of fast-paced, stylish fun you’d expect from a Guy Ritchie film. I can’t wait to see this eight-episode series!
This film is a fast-paced, stylish crime thriller set in the past, filled with action – think explosions, intense fights, and gun battles – alongside a compelling mystery. A young detective finds himself framed for a crime he didn’t commit. It comes from the director of popular hits like The Gentlemen, Snatch, Sherlock Holmes, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and delivers the same exciting energy and clever storytelling that audiences love.
Fans will be especially excited to see the early days of Holmes and Moriarty, as college students navigating the same social scene and getting caught up in mysteries and danger. There’s a memorable moment where Moriarty jokingly thanks Holmes for preventing him from being utterly bored. Here’s what the show is about, according to the official description:
Young Sherlock tells the story of how Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous detective came to be, offering a fresh take on his beginnings. We meet Sherlock Holmes as a troubled young man who gets caught up in a murder investigation that puts him at risk. This first case leads him into a worldwide conspiracy and dramatically changes his life. Set in 1870s Oxford and featuring adventures overseas, the series shows the wild and rebellious side of the teenager who will eventually become the famous resident of Baker Street.
The Guy Ritchie Train Keeps Rolling
Guy Ritchie is also working with Jason Statham again on a new film called Viva La Madness. It’s intended to be a spiritual successor to the popular 2004 crime thriller Layer Cake, starring Daniel Craig. Based on the novel of the same name by J.J. Connolly, the movie moves the action to international locations and is currently being filmed.
