You can buy your own Game of Thrones commemorative coins – here’s where to order

To celebrate 15 years of the popular TV show Game of Thrones, The Royal Mint has created a special collection of commemorative coins.

Staying true to the fantasy world and inspired by George R.R. Martin’s books, the new 50p coins feature designs of fire and ice. You can order them now, and they’re expected to arrive this autumn – though it would be perfectly themed if they didn’t appear until winter!

Here’s exactly what you can order in the line-up available:

As a huge Game of Thrones fan, I was so excited to see they made ice coins! There are actually two versions – a standard one and a really cool coloured version. Both have the Night King on them, but the coloured one has these amazing blue eyes that really make it pop. The regular coin costs £15, but the coloured one is a bit more at £27.50. I think it’s worth the extra for the colour, honestly!

If you prefer a fire-themed design, we have two options at the same price. Both feature one of Daenerys’ dragons with blood imagery, referencing her Targaryen ancestry.

In addition to the four standard designs, each Fire and Ice coin is also available as a Silver Proof edition. Only 7,500 of these silver versions will be made. They come in a special display case and are available to pre-order now for £92.50.

The Royal Mint is working on several special projects. In addition to this one, they’re also releasing coins this year to celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Lord of the Rings and the 100th anniversary of Winnie the Pooh.

Even though Game of Thrones concluded some time ago, its prequel series House of the Dragon is currently in its third season. Many viewers are praising James Norton’s performance as Lord Ormund Hightower, considering it his strongest work since his role in Happy Valley.

Each coin is currently available to buy exclusively through The Royal Mint website.
