During the interview on Monday, Mulaney revealed that his mother-in-law was a refugee who moved to Oklahoma after the Vietnam War. Kim encountered her ex-husband Winston Munn in Oklahoma, and they had Olivia in July 1980. Mulaney humorously mentioned that his in-laws refer to him using his full name and tend to accompany him wherever he goes. He also provided a fun take on the Vietnamese-Oklahoman accent that his in-laws possess, sharing it with the audience.

He agreed to complete the task, explaining that it was necessary, and added, “There are likely only a handful of individuals who might find offense in this accent,” prior to adopting his in-law’s dialect.

41-year-old John Mulaney and 44-year-old Kate Munn exchanged vows during a private ceremony at a friend’s residence in New York, as confirmed by a source to People. The couple got married after three years of dating and welcomed their son Malcolm Hiệp in November 2021.

In September 2021, the comedian made public his relationship with Munn, several months following his divorce from Anna Marie Tendler, who recently published a memoir, in May 2021. Just before Mulaney’s appearance on “Late Night” this week, Munn posted a video showing her husband and their child displaying the same hand movements. The footage also reveals a ring on Mulaney’s left ring finger.

“Malcolm has been engaged in this activity for about 10 months, but I just managed to record it for the first time,” Munn mentioned in the caption.
