In a swirl of glitter and giggles, the XRP Ledger (XRPL) has snuck past Solana and squeaked into the real-world asset tokenization spotlight. According to data from RWA.xyz, XRPL is now the sixth largest blockchain for tokenized assets, a cheeky little number that makes a goblin grin from ear to ear.
XRP Ledger RWA Tokenization Mischief
As the data wizards reveal, the Canton Network is the biggest show in town, boasting a whopping $340.9 billion in tokenized value. Right behind it is Provenance with $15.1 billion, and Ethereum with $14.9 billion.
The top five is rounded out by zkSync Era, with over $2.5 billion, and BNB Chain at $2.1 billion. A proper parade of numbers, if you like that sort of thing.
XRPL has an RWA count of 100, a figure that shines brighter than Provenance’s 1 and zkSync Era’s 51. This suggests XRPL has been busy scribbling tokens in the margins for a whole year, and then some.
With a modest 0.48% market share, XRPL grabs the limelight with a 30-day growth rate of 268%. A splash of Ripple magic, perhaps, powering a sprightly product stack in the Ripple Labs ecosystem.
With the right alliances, it has coaxed some of the top traditional financial institutions to peek at its RWA potential. Earlier this week, Ripple partnered with Aviva Investors to drive tokenization on XRP Ledger.
Biggest XRP Ledger tokenized product
While traditional financial institutions are dipping their toes into XRPL, the most visible tokenized product is the Ripple USD (RLUSD) stablecoin.
The token, backed 1:1 by the U.S. Dollar, is growing as Ripple mints new RLUSD to push the market cap above $1.5 billion. RLUSD has even strutted into the top 50 crypto list, a flamboyant sign that XRPL tokenization is not merely a rumor.
Despite being primarily a blockchain payments firm, Ripple has consistently unveiled plans to snatch a larger slice of the RWA pie in the near future. Beyond RLUSD, analysts believe XRP will benefit in the long run as liquidity flows lift all boats, even the squeaky ones in the tokenization parade.
