The XRP Ledger (XRPL) ecosystem experienced steady growth and innovation in September 2025.
This was marked by major product updates, compliance milestones, and community-driven developments.
New Features and Compliance Developments
Dan Fisher from XRPL shared recent updates on X. A key improvement was a new, easier onboarding guide from Joey Wallet, making it simpler for new users to join XRPL thanks to partnerships with MoonPay, First Ledger, and XRPCafe. Additionally, XRPScan launched a timeline showing how validators vote on changes, including details on proposals like Token Escrow, to make the process more open and clear.
In September, Xaman Wallet released version 4.2.1, simplifying token transfers by eliminating the need for trustlines. This meant users could send tokens using Checks without any additional steps. Later that month, they also integrated MoonPay Sell, allowing users to both buy and sell XRP directly within the app, completing the full fiat-to-XRP process on a single platform.
Recently, a new update called the Credentials amendment launched on the XRP Ledger, adding features for managing digital identities. Ripple engineer Kenny Lei explained that this allows users and institutions to securely verify identities directly on the ledger. In addition, Chainalysis now supports tracking all types of XRP Ledger tokens, including IOUs and NFTs.
XRPL Commons has been busy building new things! They teamed up with B3 and Peersyst to create Gamechain, a gaming platform running on the XRPL EVM sidechain, which is currently available for testing. They also started their seventh group of innovators in the XRPL Commons Aquarium Residency, bringing together developers from 11 different countries to create exciting new applications on the XRPL ledger.
Donations and Community Initiatives
Ripple recently announced a $25 million donation in RLUSD to support small businesses and veterans, distributed through the XRP Ledger. Meanwhile, RippleX is focused on getting more institutions to use decentralized finance (DeFi) with a new plan that includes features like lending and private transactions.
Throughout September, the community remained highly engaged. Krippenreiter shared in-depth explanations of how lending works within the ecosystem and detailed the Permissioned DEX. Additionally, community members discussed changing the name of the core XRPL software from ‘rippled’ to ‘xrpld’ to match the naming conventions of the ledger itself.
Key updates include Anodos’s new feature allowing transfers between the XRPL and other blockchains, and First Ledger’s updated rewards program, which now requires only 50,000 XRP (instead of 100,000) for token projects to reach the first tier. XRPL Commons also revealed GLOW, a program that will retroactively fund developers who have contributed to the network.
The month ended with XRP Seoul 2025, a large event that gathered over 3,000 people from more than 40 countries to explore the latest advancements and potential in the XRP and XRPL communities.
