Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Patch 1.3 released with gameplay balance adjustments & performance optimizations

505 Games and developer Leenzee have rolled out Update 1.3 for their game “Wuchang: Fallen Feathers”. This update includes enhancements for performance, boosts in stability, and changes to game balance, all of which were made in response to the game’s release the previous day.

In this latest update, as outlined in our Steam announcement, we’ve made improvements such as keeping the low latency mode disabled by default, enhancing graphics performance for lower-tier GPUs, resolving crash issues, and tweaking game balance for Chapter 2.

If you already own the main game or are considering purchasing it, you can find information about the DLC and upgrading to the Deluxe Edition right here. Before our comprehensive review, you can read my thoughts on the Steam version of the game on Steam Deck and ROG Ally here.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is now available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic).

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers – Patch 1.3 (July 24 Update)

Appreciate your patience and unwavering backing during the debut of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers. To ensure an optimal gaming experience for all our players, we’ve rolled out Update 1.3 to tackle numerous significant concerns experienced by early adopters. Here are the specifics:

[Details below]

Performance Related Optimizations

  • Manual Toggle for Low-Latency Mode has been added to the Options Menu, meaning it won’t automatically turn on anymore.

  • On certain graphics processor unit (GPU) models, we’ve fine-tuned the supersampling resolution settings to avoid any unexpected decrease in performance.

  • VRAM optimization for lower-end GPUs:

  • To conserve memory on GPUs that have 8GB or fewer of video RAM (VRAM), we’ve implemented a memory-efficient optimization technique that applies to every level of texture quality.

  • This optimization pertains exclusively to GPUs boasting over 8GB of VRAM, provided that the texture quality is set at a low level.

  • Making these adjustments enhances system stability, minimizing instances of freezing, lag, or screen flickering due to inadequate graphics memory.

Bug Fixes & Stability Improvements

  • Fixed a crash that could occur immediately after the company logo during game startup.

  • Resolved execution stutter affecting select hardware configurations during finisher animations.

  • After the latest patch update, problems affecting both Standard and Deluxe Edition users have been resolved. As a result, all players, regardless of their version, will receive the intended content rewards. For those who have previously purchased the Deluxe Edition, simply log back in and retrieve your reward from the donation box situated within Reverent Temple.

  • Owners of the game “Fallen Feathers Steam” from WUCHANG will get the Original Soundtrack DLC for free as a form of apology.

Gameplay Balance Adjustments

  • Chapter 2 – Landmine Encounter Rebalancing:

  • Lowered the quantity of landmines and modified their explosive power to ensure a balanced and engaging gameplay experience.

At present, we’re developing a larger fix which should be released within the coming days. Should you continue to encounter problems post-update, I recommend checking our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) page or contacting our Customer Support for additional help.
