Rapper Wiz Khalifa has announced the death of his father, Laurence W. Thomaz.
Rapper Khalifa, whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz, shared that his father passed away peacefully on Friday, February 13th, at the age of 63.
Khalifa shared on Twitter that his father passed away peacefully today. He expressed his deep love and gratitude for everything his father taught him, and said he will miss him dearly. He described his father, Laurence W. Thomaz, as a true yogi who left this world on his own terms and with inner peace.
The artist recalled their last conversation and the legacy his father had achieved.
The last time I spoke with my dad, he told me how proud he was of my work in a film, and I promised him I’d continue pursuing my dreams. I’ll always remember him fondly – ‘LT Forever’.
My father’s unexpected death was incredibly sad, but I’m comforted by how many people loved and respected him. It makes me happy to know he made a positive difference in the world – that’s all he ever hoped for.
