Wingdrake Hide Location in Monster Hunter Wilds

Wingdrake Hide is a valuable Material found within Monster Hunter Wilds, utilized to create an armor segment and various Talismans. It’s also essential for certain Kinsect upgrades, making it highly sought-after by Insect Glaive enthusiasts. Thankfully, obtaining Wingdrake Hide in Monster Hunter Wilds isn’t too challenging, and this guide will show you precisely where to find it.

In Monster Hunter Wilds, Wingdrake Hide can only be found in maps of Lower Rank. This is because monsters that drop Wingdrake Hide will instead award Wingdrake Hide+ when you reach High Rank. If a player has advanced to High Rank but still requires Wingdrake Hide, they should approach Alma at the Quest Counter and initiate a Low Rank Optional Quest in the Plains, Forest, or Basin. Then, focus on the monsters as outlined in this guide to obtain the Wingdrake Hide needed.

Monster Hunter Wilds: Wingdrake Hide Locations

Baunos

Wingdrake Hide can be crafted using the remains of small aerial creatures known as Baunos, which inhabit the Windward Plains in Monster Hunter Wilds. These elusive creatures are often spotted flitting about in Areas 8, 10, 11, and 13. Players on the lookout for these skies-dwellers should find them with ease if they visit those specific areas.

The “Filter Icons” tool is incredibly useful for locating specific Baunos accurately. To utilize this, players need to open the map, click on the “Filter Icons” option situated at the bottom-left corner of the screen, then choose the Small Monsters tab and select a Baunos. This will allow you to place a marker on it. After that, they can summon their Seikret and enable the auto-move feature so the mount will transport them straight to the winged monster, taking them directly to its location.

When you spot a Baunos, aim your Slinger at it and wait until it’s within range. A prompt will appear above the monster for you to press. This action will make the Baunos drop down. After that, feel free to use any weapon from Monster Hunter Wilds to defeat this small creature. Finally, carve its remains to get a Wingdrake Hide.

Harpios

Wingdrake Hides can also be obtained from the remains of Harpios, tiny winged creatures that inhabit both the Scarlet Forest and Oilwell Basin. For players exploring the Forest, Areas 9, 12, and 15 are prime spots, whereas Area 2 in the Basin is an ideal location to find these elusive Harpios.

For convenience, the “Filter Icons” option allows players to effortlessly locate Harpios. To use this feature, simply open your map and select the “Filter Icons” tab located at the bottom-left corner.

Unlike Baunos, Harpios are usually found with their feet on the ground, providing an excellent opportunity for Monster Hunter Wilds players to attack them. Upon defeating one of these small wyverns, players can gather a Wingdrake Hide by dissecting its remains.
