Will Bradley Cooper’s Next Love Story Finally Win Him an Oscar?
As a dedicated follower, I’m excited to share that Bradley Cooper was Oscar-nominated for his portrayal of Leonard Bernstein in Maestro. Interestingly, he’s stepping into another biopic for his next significant role – depicting the tough-loving partner of French writer Simone de Beauvoir.
For seventeen years, American writer Nelson Algren was involved in a tumultuous romantic relationship with Simone de Beauvoir, who is well-known for her partnership with philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre. This connection spanned the time when she authored her seminal work, The Second Sex.
At the age of 39, Algren was the one who granted her her initial sexual climax, and their romantic connection held such profound significance that even after being laid to rest alongside Sartre in Paris, she continued to wear a ring belonging to him.
The movie is penned by Sir Christopher Hampton, with renowned French actress Elsa Zylberstein taking on the role of de Beauvoir in it.
50-year-old Cooper, who’s romantically involved with model Gigi Hadid, is at present working on the production of “Is This Thing On?”, a dramatic series that features Laura Dern and revolves around a struggling comedian and his deteriorating marriage.
In addition, he occasionally makes an unexpected appearance on the latest season of popular television program The Righteous Gemstones, which revolves around a family of televangelists who have committed numerous sins.
In the meantime, they’re finalizing the screenplay for the unnamed biography movie, and it’s looking possible that production could begin as soon as this summer.
Five times has Cooper been nominated for acting Oscars, with films like A Star Is Born, American Hustle, and Silver Linings Playbook among them; however, he hasn’t taken home the award thus far. The part of Algren, a charming ex-soldier who earns his living through writing and poker, might just be the breakthrough role that brings him long-awaited success.

Algren penned stories that depicted the struggles of the underprivileged and oppressed. His writing garnered widespread praise from critics, as well as the respect of Ernest Hemingway.
He and de Beauvoir met when she was on a trip to the US in 1947.
In the summers of 1949, they shared time at his cabin in Miller Beach, Indiana, and embarked on a journey to South America together. In her book titled “The Mandarins,” she portrayed him as ‘Lewws Brogan.’
However, with her rising fame and accomplishments, he faded into insignificance, and their geographical separation grew problematic. This challenge was amplified since Algren was barred from traveling due to FBI surveillance for alleged subversive activities.
In the end, neither lover was prepared to leave their respective hometowns, Paris and Chicago. Consequently, due to the vast distance between them, their relationship eventually fizzled out.
The movie is based on a collection of love letters that Simone de Beauvoir wrote to Nelson Algren, letters that were later sold by her descendants.
Actress Zylberstein expressed that she was taken aback by the exquisiteness of these letters, and the unforeseen bond that blossomed when Simone de Beauvoir visited Chicago for a brief span of two days.
As a fervent admirer, let me say that Simone de Beauvoir wasn’t just an erudite thinker; she was a fiery, bold soul, captivated by not one, but two remarkable men – the philosophical titan Jean-Paul Sartre and the literary luminary Nelson Algren.

Naomi: Cooking Sunday roasts with Kate was a taste of home
In the early stages of my modeling journey, just four short months in, I graced the cover of the influential i-D magazine for the very first time.
Previously known for its legendary status, the once-troubled publication has undergone a transformation. It’s now owned by renowned supermodel Karlie Kloss and reintroduced as a biannual print magazine. Once more, Naomi graces the cover as its star.
In the magazine, she is featured being interviewed by acquaintances such as fellow model Kate Moss, filmmaker Steve McQueen, and actor Colman Domingo.
They recall the joy of cooking Sunday roasts together in New York during the 1990s, as Naomi remarks to Kate: “Oh, those Sundays were a treasure – our small slice of home, even more so when we were on the move, living from our suitcases. Nowadays, I take pleasure in preparing Cornish hens stuffed with sage and onion breadcrumbs, accompanied by Yorkshire pudding.

‘But nothing beats a proper British Sunday roast.
In earlier times, when we journeyed and found ourselves with a kitchen, we would prepare meals as a group. Those shared Sunday meals helped maintain our ties with our homes.
A family falling apart, in one long, unflinching take
Following the acclaimed release of “Boiling Point”, a movie filmed in a single continuous shot depicting the turmoil within a restaurant’s kitchen during an intense evening, its lead actor, Stephen Graham, was challenged to conceive another project with a comparable concept.
The result – stunning miniseries Adolescence – is streaming now on Netflix.
In a simple rephrasing: Graham portrays the character of everyday father, Eddie Miller, while the fresh-face Owen Cooper plays his son Jamie, who tragically takes a girl’s life.
In a rather captivating twist, the spotlight has shifted towards the perpetrator and his kin – and I, as an ardent fan, can’t help but be intrigued by the far-reaching, insidious impact of figures like Andrew Tate.
As a lifestyle expert, I often reflect on moments that have deeply impacted me, and one such memory is still vivid in my mind. I recall an event I read about in a newspaper – a tragic story of a young boy taking the life of another young girl through stabbing. A few months later, another heart-wrenching tale unfolded on the news, again depicting a young boy ending the life of yet another young girl by means of a knife. These events, happening at opposite ends of our nation, left an indelible mark on my heart. It’s important for us to remember these stories and reflect on their impact as we strive to create a safer, kinder world for all our youth.
I find myself pondering: What is it about modern society that allows such actions by a young boy to occur, and not be isolated incidents?

In simpler terms, Jack Thorne penned the script, and prior to filming, the actors practiced extensively. Instead of multiple takes per scene or episode, they opted for a single take each time.
15-year-old Cooper was selected out of 500 boys who submitted audition videos for the part of Jamie. “I sent my video without any expectations and then a month later, I received a callback in Manchester from producer Phil Barantini,” he shared. “And that’s when everything started moving quickly.
He mentioned that the scene in episode three where he needed to intimidate his psychiatrist (portrayed by Erin Doherty) proved challenging for him. “I had to get extremely close to her and make her feel scared. Initially, during rehearsals, I found it difficult, but with two weeks of preparation, I managed to pull it off without any problems.
Graham mentioned about the series: ‘We aimed to get rid of stereotypes… We wanted to portray a father figure who never resorted to violence. The mother character wasn’t depicted as an alcoholic. Jamie’s character hasn’t been subjected to physical, mental, or sexual abuse by any family member.’
And that’s why we need a babysitter…
Sam Taylor-Johnson first encountered her spouse, Aaron, while working on the movie ‘Nowhere Boy’. She expressed eagerness for another opportunity to collaborate with him in the future.

On that enchanting Wednesday evening, as I stepped out adorning my favorite shoes, I found myself murmuring, “It’s bizarre to be out here, leaving behind the embodiment of acting genius at home.” This was uttered during a heartfelt chat, orchestrated by A Rabbit’s Foot magazine.
She mentioned: ‘This collaboration is outstanding, as we are familiar with one another and enjoy working side by side. However, we have four kids, which adds complexity.’
‘If his parents are free to babysit then we can make another film together.’
Richard E Grant on feeling frisky
At the SXSW Festival in Austin, Texas, Richard E. Grant displayed a lively energy as he promoted his latest horror film titled “Death of a Unicorn.
With his co-stars Tea Leoni and Jenna Ortega, he shared that they enjoyed their time during the filming process.

He playfully mentioned that there were no figures enforcing moral codes in Hungary, and added humorously that his group regularly engaged in sexual activities together on a daily basis.
He then hugged Leoni and pretended to hump her.
The movie featuring Paul Rudd, too, has a unique plot revolving around lethal unicorns, whose blood holds the power to heal all diseases. This film will be released on April 4th.
Was it something I said?
Was there a turning point in the relationship between Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni, perhaps, when Justin expressed that he could communicate with her late father?
In her court documents (containing accusations of sexual harassment, which Baldoni firmly denies), Lively claims that the actor, who practices the Baha’i faith, frequently declared he had the power to do something.

Reports indicate that Lively is sensitive regarding her late father, Ernie Brown, whose memory she pays tribute to by naming her haircare line Blake Brown.
Vernon Kay’s star rises
In a turn of events, Vernon Kay’s circumstances have significantly improved. Back in 2010, he found himself under scrutiny due to text message exchanges with model Rhian Sugden, and at that time, it seemed that his TV presenter wife Tess Daly was more successful on Strictly Come Dancing. However, things are looking better for him now.
On BBC Radio 2, Kay’s program is extremely well-received, drawing an impressive audience of 7.2 million listeners, making it the most listened-to show in the nation.

And ITV have just ordered a second series of Dress The Nation, which he fronts with AJ Odudu.
Last October, I found myself captivated by a riveting TV series where aspiring fashion enthusiasts vied for the ultimate an opportunity to design my very own clothing line, which would then be manufactured and retailed by none other than Marks & Spencer.
