Oasis confirm new reunion movie from Peaky Blinders creator
Steven Knight, the mastermind behind “Peaky Blinders,” is set to create and produce a tour film for the legendary band Oasis as they reunite for a new tour.
The as-yet-unnamed movie is slated to chronicle a popular band’s tour, which was earlier announced for both the UK and North America. The directing duties are handled by Dylan Southern and Will Lovelace, who previously created the 2012 concert film titled “Shut Up and Play the Hits” featuring LCD Soundsystem.
As a gamer, I’m on the edge of my seat, waiting for the big reveal. There’s no word yet on when this movie is coming out, but the recent announcement hinted that they’re keeping the details under wraps for now. So, I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what surprises they have in store!
As a dedicated fan, I’m thrilled by the recent buzz about a reunion tour film! Last year, it seemed like a distant dream when Liam Gallagher himself appeared to nix the idea of a documentary. But now, it appears that dreams do come true!
In October, Gallagher responded to a fan asking on Twitter/X: “How’s the new doco filming going?”
Gallagher responded, ‘We won’t be participating in that,'” he explained. “I’ve got shows lined up instead, and I think it’s high time we shifted focus from discussions about this band to the business of rocking and rolling.
In a subsequent post, Gallagher addressed a fan’s theory that the documentary might solely explore the causes of the band’s separation.
He wrote, “We’ve gone through this countless times, and people may have their own interpretations. But what truly counts is that we’re here again, and that’s what I believe really matters to the genuine fans of the band.
At the moment, it isn’t clear whether Knight’s movie will be classified as a documentary.
A new movie about Oasis isn’t going to be the initial one centering around them as a band, since they were already the main focus in the 2016 film “Oasis: Supersonic,” which was directed by Mat Whitecross.
