Timothée Chalamet shared that he had to apologize to his girlfriend, Kylie Jenner, after she unexpectedly gave him a lovely present for his 30th birthday.
Timothée Chalamet, age 30, told a story while speaking with actor Matthew McConaughey at a Hollywood event hosted by Variety and CNN.
While talking about how much he loves Matthew McConaughey’s movie Interstellar – he’d seen it twelve times in theaters – Timothée Chalamet learned that McConaughey had arranged a private screening of the film for his birthday in December.
“That’s right,” Chalamet confirmed. “I was annoyed during the drive because I had no idea where she was taking me. I kept thinking, ‘It’s my birthday—why are we driving half an hour out of Los Angeles?’”
I arrived at the theater and they were showing Interstellar on IMAX. I immediately apologized, saying I was sorry for being so irritable during the car ride.
Timothée Chalamet’s seemingly annoyed reaction sparked varied responses online; some fans thought it was endearing, while others weren’t so enthusiastic.
One person pointed out that a man complaining about being taken on a surprise trip as if it were a negative thing is a warning sign of potential issues.
Someone shared that if your girlfriend drives half an hour to surprise you with an IMAX showing of Interstellar for your birthday, you should cherish her! It’s a truly special gesture.

Chalamet actually has a small supporting role in Interstellar as Casey Affleck’s son.
He once described the part as the most enjoyable project he’d ever worked on, even though he wasn’t on screen much in the hit movie.
Jenner has been showing her support for her boyfriend as he promotes his project, Marty Supreme, by joining him at awards shows like the Golden Globes in January.
I was absolutely thrilled to see him finally win a Golden Globe! It was his first one ever, and he took home the award for Best Actor in a Musical or Comedy at the ceremony in Los Angeles. It was a really special moment.
He gave The Kardashians star a mention in his acceptance speech.
‘My dad instilled in me a spirit of gratitude growing up,’ he told the audience.
Remember to appreciate everything you have. That mindset helped me move on from this event without receiving any awards, but with my head held high and thankful for the experience itself.
It wouldn’t be honest to say the challenges didn’t make this feel even more special. I want to thank my parents and my partner – I love you all very much.
Chalamet recently won Best Actor at the Critics’ Choice Awards for his performance in Marty Supreme, and he also thanked Jenner in his speech, just as he did previously.
He finished by thanking his partner of three years, telling them, “Thank you for everything we’ve built together. I love you.”
‘I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.’
