As a huge Marvel fan, I – like everyone else – was really excited after those four short teasers for Avengers: Doomsday dropped between December and January. We were all hoping the last one would finally show us Robert Downey Jr. as Doctor Doom, but sadly, that fifth teaser never came. It’s been a long wait!
A new trailer might finally arrive this week, possibly a short preview or a full-length trailer. The Russo brothers, who directed the film, previously clarified that the clips released so far weren’t actually teasers or trailers at all.
CinemaCon, the movie industry’s big annual convention, is happening this week in Las Vegas. Studios use the event to show theater owners and partners what films they have coming up. It’s also when we often get our first glimpses of exciting new footage from upcoming blockbusters – and this year, fans are hoping to see a trailer for the new Avengers: Doomsday movie.

Walt Disney Studios will be showcasing their upcoming films this Thursday from 2:30 PM to 4:30 PM Pacific Time. For UK viewers, that’s Thursday night into Friday morning, from 10:30 PM to 12:30 AM. They are expected to heavily feature Avengers: Doomsday, as well as other titles like The Devil Wears Prada 2 and Toy Story 5.
During the promotion for the 2019 film Avengers: Endgame, Disney released a clip from the beginning of the movie showing the remaining Avengers – including Captain Marvel – working together to plan their attack on Thanos and attempt to revive their fallen teammates. This year, they might do something similar for Avengers: Doomsday, potentially sharing a scene from the movie instead of a traditional trailer.
What to Read Next
Even if footage is shown at CinemaCon, there’s no promise it will be released to the public. The clip from Endgame was only for those at the event, and that might happen again. We probably won’t see full leaks like we do at events like Comic-Con, but expect descriptions of any footage that’s revealed.
It’s been three months since we last heard anything about the movie, and with the first trailer for Dune: Part Three now out, we’re optimistic that a trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will be released this week.
Disney will probably promote Avengers: Doomsday with a trailer shown in theaters alongside their big May movies, The Devil Wears Prada 2 and The Mandalorian & Grogu. So, even if a trailer doesn’t appear this week, fans shouldn’t have to wait much longer.

I’m super hyped for CinemaCon! It sounds like Sony, Warner Bros., Universal, Amazon MGM Studios, and Paramount are all going to be showing off what they’ve got this week. From what I’ve heard, we might get our first look at trailers or footage from The Odyssey, the new Beatles movie, and even a sequel to Practical Magic! It’s gonna be a great week if all that pans out.
Who knows, maybe Amazon want to break the Internet and announce the new James Bond too…
Avengers: Doomsday is released in cinemas on 18 December.
The latest issue of Living Legends, a beautifully illustrated 100-page tribute to Sir David Attenborough, is now available! You can purchase it at newsstands or online.
