While the first season of ‘Daredevil: Born Again’ generally received positive reviews, Wilson Bethel, who plays Bullseye, has said the experience wasn’t entirely satisfying. He recently shared that working on the first season was frustrating, particularly when compared to the production quality of the current second season.
Wilson Bethel reveals why Daredevil: Born Again Season 1 was ‘frustrating’
Wilson Bethel, who plays Bullseye, recently mentioned on the Brandon Davis Show that the first season of Daredevil: Born Again didn’t have enough large-scale action or exciting moments, and he hoped to see more of that in the future.
I really care about this show and its legacy, and I know the fans feel the same way – they expect a lot from it. Honestly, I was a little disappointed that the first season didn’t quite reach the level of quality I hoped for. I was aiming for the standard of Season 2, ‘Born Again,’ right from the start.
He explained that after a long wait of six or seven years, starting with a really strong, exciting season of a show would have made a huge impact. While they had some good scenes, the return of the show didn’t quite create that immediate, explosive reaction – that feeling of, ‘Wow, Daredevil is back!’ – but he was proud they finished the project.
Though Wilson Bethel, who first played Bullseye in season three of the Netflix series Daredevil, might have mixed feelings about the first season of Born Again, both critics and viewers generally seem pleased. Currently, the season has an 87% approval rating from critics on Rotten Tomatoes, and audiences give it a 78% score.
