After the opening sequence of the game Avowed, you’ll encounter a decision point where you can select your character class. Immediately afterward, you’ll receive some free attribute points that can boost your early stats. It’s crucial to allocate these points wisely according to the type of character build you have in mind.

While navigating the game’s map, battling opponents, completing missions, and uncovering hidden treasures, you’ll frequently earn level promotions that reward you with skill points to acquire additional powers and characteristics. Let me explain how they work.

Avowed Attributes, Explained

As an avid player of Avowed, I’ve discovered there are six attributes you can enhance in the game. Each of these attributes boosts two specific stats for your character, but that’s not all! The level you attain on each attribute also unlocks unique dialogue options during conversations with other characters. In some instances, these can be quite beneficial.

Since the timing of receiving these dialogues is uncertain, it would be wise to determine your attribute distribution according to your character’s build. Here’s a breakdown of what enhancing each attribute does for your character:

Might This stat increases your overall damage and carry capacity. While it sounds like an obvious upgrade option, carry capacity isn’t as good as it seems since only your weapons and armor have weight.

Even if you get encumbered with these, you can easily store them at your camp from the inventory.

Constitution Constitution increases your maximum health alongside poison and bleed resistance. Overall, it’s great if you’re taking head-on fights with little dodging.
Dexterity Perfect for builds where you need a lot of agility like ranged builds or one-handed weapons since it buffs your attack speed and the speed at which you perform all actions.
Perception Another good choice for ranged builds, Perception increases your crit chance and overall range with each weapon. There are also quite a lot of unique perception options.
Intellect Intellect is for those who want to become a mage in Avowed as it buffs your maximum essence while giving high elemental resistance.
Resolve Finally, an all-rounder stat that you can use on every build, Resolve increases your stamina and the chances of you arising from the dead when you’re defeated.

Generally speaking, when I enhance an attribute, I’ll typically receive a fixed value for that stat. But sometimes, the values for those stats can switch between two different numbers instead.

Furthermore, the statistics you earn with each level-up may vary depending on the level progression for each attribute as well.

Avowed Abilities, Explained

In Avowed, you’ll encounter the character ability section after you’ve personalized your character and entered the main game world. To access it, simply click on the inventory button and then navigate to the tab located at the top left. Upon initial viewing, the variety of abilities might seem overwhelming.

In essence, there are primarily three categories of skills you can enhance for your primary character: Fighter, Ranger, and Wizard. Additionally, you’ll uncover Divine talents as you advance through the narrative. Lastly, as you acquire more companions, you’ll notice an area to upgrade their abilities too.

The Godlike abilities you acquire depend on the choices you make.

Wizard Finally, as you can probably tell by the name, this section contains a boost to your magic powers and various magic abilities that you can use. You’ll need a Grimoire to use these abilities without the upgrades in this section.

In my gaming journey, as I ascend levels with my Wizard character, I’m not just boosting my spells but also unlocking Grimoire enhancements. These improvements allow me to wield more potent abilities, making each battle feel even more epic!

You have the convenience of resetting all your skills and attributes simply by investing 100 Currency on the dedicated screens, allowing you to redistribute your points without losing any previously assigned ones.
