Where Winds Meet Guide – How To Steal And Take A Disguise

In Where Winds Meet, you can use Disguise to play more stealthily, but it isn’t something you start with. You’ll need to do a fair bit of questing to unlock it, and it’s hidden within a side mission rather than the main story.

This guide for Where Winds Meet is all about how to go about obtaining the Disguise skill.

Disguise: Veil Of Love

First, head to Wuyan’s Shop in Kaifeng City. You can find it on the map by looking for the book icon, located southeast of the Grand Imperial Temple teleport.

Initiate conversation with Wuyan in order to begin the quest, selecting appearance as the response.

Don’t worry about getting the item from the character – it’s meant to happen this way. Just go back to Wuyan to continue the mission.

Now you’ll learn to create portraits of people so you can disguise yourself as them. Simply follow your target from a safe distance – you’ll know it’s working when a mask icon appears. Once the portrait is finished, go back to Wuyan to use it and adopt the disguise.

Finish this quest, then use the item you receive before talking to Wuyan again.

Disguise Use Cases

At first, I couldn’t just turn into any NPC I wanted – there were level restrictions. But once I leveled up enough to unlock a disguise, it opened up a whole new world! Suddenly, areas that were blocked off before became accessible. Wuyan is really helpful, though – she always lets me know when I need to grind a bit more before I can snag a specific disguise and tells me what I need to do to get there.

The dart can also be useful in missions that reward stealth, like the Mortal Rope Dart Martial Art quest, which even suggests using disguises to succeed.

You’ll need paper to draw portraits, but it’s easy to find and buy.

This covers everything you need to know about getting and unlocking the Disguise skill in Where Winds Meet.
