What’s the Penalty for Leaving Early in Elden Ring Nightreign?
In simpler terms, the game titled “Elden Ring Nightreign” is primarily designed for online play and features challenging boss encounters and unpredictable treasure finds. It’s not uncommon for players to abandon games prematurely. Even if you’re enjoying a successful gaming session, there might be someone who suddenly quits in frustration after venturing off alone and losing their Rune points.
It’s beneficial to know that certain mechanisms exist within Elden Ring Nightreign to discourage players from leaving matches they aren’t winning. Contrary to assumptions, this system is lenient as it must account for connection problems, game crashes, and other typical issues found in online games like Nightreign. Upon receiving several notifications, however, those who leave early will encounter penalties in the matchmaking process, which may limit their ability to play with others.
Elden Ring Nightreign Early Leaver Penalty Explained
Leaving an Elden Ring Nightreign match prematurely could lead to a temporary ban from participating in future expeditions. While there are safeguards for technical glitches, frequent disconnections may be seen as deliberate actions and result in penalties.
Once your initial disconnection occurs, upon your subsequent reentry into the Roundtable Hold, you’ll receive a reminder instead of a punishment. However, any Murk, Relics, or other rewards from uncompleted expeditions will be forfeited, but you can rejoin an ongoing session directly from the main menu if your previous disconnection was due to a crash or server error.
Following a warning, the game may not be as forgiving for your next disconnection. Should you purposefully leave a match, you’ll encounter a penalty in matchmaking that will keep you from joining other players for approximately 10-15 minutes. Much like in other online games, this timer will increase with subsequent disconnections. You can still play alone and offline when you’re under a matchmaking restriction, but Elden Ring Nightreign becomes much simpler and more enjoyable with a team. Avoid being that player. Instead, stay with the team until the mission is complete.
It’s unfortunate that if another player in your group disconnects during a match in Nightreign, you’ll still be penalized by receiving a penalty. Contrary to some other games that allow the entire group to exit safely when a player leaves early or rage quits, Nightreign doesn’t offer this option. Instead, much like games from FromSoft, you’ll have to persevere with whoever remains in the group, facing the increased challenge of playing without a team member and completing the expedition.
