What are Fanged Beasts in Monster Hunter Wilds?

In Monster Hunter Wilds, there’s a diverse array of monstrous creatures, and each category has distinct attributes. One such group is known as Fanged Beasts. Although you might assume they possess fangs, it’s not straightforward which specific set of teeth these monsters are equipped with, as all appear to sport sharp teeth!

What are Fanged Beasts?

In Monster Hunter Wilds, Fanged Beasts represent a specific category of large monsters. Initially, just four such beasts are available within the game upon launch, and chances are you’ve come across them during the early stages of the campaign. Hunting these creatures is frequently necessary to complete Research Help: Monsters bounties.

  • Congalala
  • Doshaguma
  • Ajarakan
  • Blangonga

Among all of them, the Congalala is the least challenging to either hunt or capture, while the Ajarakan poses a formidable challenge, often accompanied by other dangerous creatures. Likewise, the Blangonga can be unpredictable and is usually found with smaller monkeys nearby.

Once you’ve hunted sufficient Fanged Beasts, you can collect your bounty rewards at the Support Desk. This brings you one step closer to completing all quests. Gathering these rewards is a fantastic method to accumulate Armor Spheres, which are valuable resources for late-game grinding.

Beyond the creatures you’re familiar with, there are numerous other types of monsters roaming around. If a mission calls for a specific kind of monster, don’t forget to consult your Monster Field Manual – it will provide you with the necessary information.
